25.01.2022 Looking forward to brewing a beer on site at Brisbanes Hilltop Hops Farm in a couple of weeks. Straight off the bine and into the kettle, fresh AF! Our first member event of the year will involve hop picking, brewing and sampling the beer we recently brewed on the new Grainfather G70.

23.01.2022 Earle Evans funeral will be held on Thursday the 15th of August, 10:00 am at Pinnaroo Lawn Cemetery, Bridgeman Downs & afterwards at Kedron Wavell RSL. Earles family would love to see all those who knew him raise a glass in his honour. If you would like to join us in paying your respects to Earle, wed love to see you there. D.W.B

23.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who managed to join in the Zoom meeting on Thursday. It's pretty tricky keeping things interesting when we can't be together sharing beer! This month we distributed the same set of 3 beers to our members, then did a run through of BJCP judging lead by our two BJCP certified members. 2 local Brisbane breweries, and one Bavarian classic. Great night if I do say so myself... See you all next month.

19.01.2022 Today the Brisbane Brewers Club lost one of our longest serving and most knowledgeable members, Earle Evans, at the age of 94. An incredibly generous man, dedicated to the art of brewing for longer than many of us have been alive, he was an incredible source of knowledge and friendship that will be missed by all. We thank Earle for his service to the club and dedication over the years. Information about Earles funeral service will be posted when available for those who wish to attend.

16.01.2022 The waiting list for Brisbanes best bottle shops very own exclusive club is now open... My Beer Dealer kindly donated a membership to their Froth Society as a prize for our Xmas party keg comp this year, because they are just that bloody good. The value of this membership is incredible, and the team at Brewski & My Beer Dealer constantly bring in silly amounts of beer you wont find anywhere else. If you are not on the list, I would highly reccommend you check it out!

16.01.2022 Our second mini comp for 2019 will be held in October at Soapbox Beer. Members, start planning your brews now! If youre not a member, why not come along to our next meeting and see what were about. The winner of this comp will brew their winning beer on the Soapbox pilot system, and we already have over $300 in prizes confirmed.

16.01.2022 And were done for 2019! Our Champion Beer trophy was awarded to Greg Osborne for his 45 point scoring American IPA. Our Champion Brewer trophy went to Mark Cupples for scoring the highest average across both mini comps this year. The party keg comp was won by Bryan Penley for his Raspberry Flanders. Congratulations to all! Hope everyone has a great break, and well see you all in January for our annual unofficial meeting at Brewski.

14.01.2022 Thanks to our very own Matt, who also happens to work at Green Beacon Brewing, for showing us the serious kit he gets to brew on these days. Matt also brought along a microscope so we could get a closer look at some yeast samples, and taught us about cell counts and yeast viability. Its great to have such a wealth of knowledge within the club!

10.01.2022 Rare Beer Club was an absolute blast yesterday. Thanks to Bryan Penley for making such excellent selections. We are lucky to have such a great bottle shop at My Beer Dealer bringing us incredible beers from near and far. Already looking forward to the 2020 edition!

07.01.2022 Today we farewelled our mate and mentor Earle Evans. Great to see so many of our members, family and friends at the service, and afterwards raising a glass in his honour as we shared stories. Im sure more than a few more beers will be consumed for Earle tonight. D.W.B

07.01.2022 Will you be entering the Grafton Brewing Competition in 2020? The Grafton Brewing Competition is coming up shortly, with entries closing on Friday 17...th April 2020 (or Thursday 9th April 2020 if using a drop off point outside of Grafton). This is a not for profit event. Entries are received from both experienced and newer amateur brewers, with entry fees being very affordable at $2 per entry. Attending and taking part in the event has become a yearly pilgrimage for some. Please Pass This Email On To Other Home Brewers You May Know! The event has been running in varying formats since 1867 and will again be a BJCP sanctioned event in 2020. Judging takes place on Saturday 25th April 2020, with judges feedback being sent out after the Grafton Show opens the following week. The judging panels consist of BJCP certified or provisional judges, experienced beer judges, and commercial brewers. If you are interested in being on the judging panel (or know of someone suitable) and are able to get to Grafton, please contact to discuss further. Those entrants wishing to attend on the judging day as spectators, please RSVP as soon as possible (numbers are limited). Website and facebook links below (The 2020 Programme + Entry Form will be available soon, AABC Guidelines can be downloaded from the website). Any questions, please dont hesitate to ask. It is hoped that drop off points will be setup around Australia (similar to previous years). For those outside of the area, this makes entering the competition very affordable. Grafton also has a great beer and brewing heritage, and has a number of hotels with great atmosphere and beers on tap for those wishing to have a look around when the judging concludes.

06.01.2022 Congratulations to Greg "I don't put my beers in competitions" Osborne for caving to the pressure and entering his beers in our Spring mini comp. Top two beers in the comp of course! Looking forward to seeing what you brew at Soapbox in the near future. And in exciting National Championship news, our very own Scott L Mackenzie just so happened to brew the best Brown Ale in Australia! And Duncan's bottling of our club barrel lambic came up third in the Sour category. Brilliant results!
