25.01.2022 Congratulations to all teams!

25.01.2022 Many of you are understandable asking whether masks must be worn during games for the next 10 days. We have just spoken to QLD Health since the rules seem contradictory regarding 'strenuous exercise' and 'indoor venues', and until they get the restrictions in detail they were also unsure how we are affected. We have to assume that masks must be worn at all times inside the centre including during games. QLD Health are going to confirm whether or not this is indeed the case a...nd let us know this afternoon. Sorry we cannot be more certain at present, we will update everyone as soon as we can.

19.01.2022 With the coming commencement of our social indoor sports on the 10th of July we wanted to remind teams that renomination for existing teams will close as of 5pm Wednesday June 10th. We will then open to new teams to enter the coming restricted competitions. Once registered we will be emailing the Play Safe changes and procedures to all teams and captains as well as posting to our website. This will include any updates to your competitions and centers moving forward. With st...age 3 restrictions we do not foresee drastic changes but we will be restricted to the number of players at one time and also to the flow of players within the facility and courts. This will include closure of certain social areas including seating areas. It will see the addition of barriers to seperate courts and playing areas. A new checking and sign on procedure will see single person (captain) payments and separate entries and exits for teams. All teams registered are required to keep accurate details for all members playing and will have facility via checkin and online forms to update new and fill in players. As for fill ins we are still restricted to numbers of players at one time and we are working to formulate a process to include subs for scheduled teams. This information will be included in your play safe email you will be sent. Reminder to all teams that re-nominations for existing teams will close 5pm Wednesday before we open Once again thank you to all teams that have already renominated and are supporting our amazing sporting community.. 18.01.2022 At the request of the Government, and with a heavy heart, Brisbane City Indoor Sports will be closed as of 12PM 23 March 2020 until further notice. Our sporting community is a powerful force, and we know you, and us, will come back from this period of closure stronger than ever. We encourage all our visitors to BCIS to stay active and healthy during this period of time and we look forward to resuming our competitions once we combat this pandemic.... We are optimistic that we will not only survive this pandemic situation that all of Australia is facing but we will come out stronger as a community then before. We ask that all players stay connected and check back to our website weekly to stay updated with any information that we will receive about resuming our competitions. We know that this will be a tough time for every Australian and we wish the best for you all and would like to thank you for supporting our centres during this tough time. If you have any queries or concerns please send us a comment on the contact-us page via our website. https://www.brisbanecityindoorsports.com.au/abou/contact-us

18.01.2022 Hello teams, Thank you to all teams that have renominated for the upcoming season starting on the 10th July 2020. We have received 640 renominations and have been overwhelmed by the support from you all. If you are still wanting to renominate you can do so through our website https://www.brisbanecityindoorsports.com.au/renominate-team. ... We are now opening up all remaining spots to new teams wanting to register. If you are one of these new teams please do so quickly as we are restricted to the number of teams we can host due to Covid Safe Play restrictions and a cap on numbers. We are hoping this will change in the future but for now we must treat it as the new normal. https://www.brisbanecityindoorsports.com.au/register-your-t Once again we thank all the teams that have renominated and you will all start to be contacted in the coming week with updates on your renomination and first game times. Once we have completed the draws for the new season you will be emailed and the team captain called with your first game time. You will also be emailed a new Captains letter with the Covid Safe Play plans and procedures moving forward.

16.01.2022 We want to thank all our teams at Brisbane City Indoor Sports for the amazing effort they have been doing with our Covid Safe Plan and with the vast changes we have put in place with social distancing to ensure that everyone plays safe and stays safe. With the recent cases that we have seen from southern states, now is the time not to be complacent and to double down on our efforts to restrict contact and to maintain social distancing. We want to thank the vast majority of pl...ayers for adhering to our changes and for following our Covid Safe Plans. As a reminder we ask teams to please follow these protocols at our venues. * No spectators We realise that Indoor Sports is great and that spectators may want to watch. However as part of our current Covid Safe plan and to reduce the number of patrons in our venue we require players only to attend our venues. To avoid disappointment of being turned away please ensure that you notify all team members that we can not allow spectators into the venues. * Must Leave straight after matches Although our Covid Safe plan allows for greater numbers of patrons in our venues due to the size, Brisbane City Indoor Sports has made it part of our Play Safe plan to ask all players to leave our venues as quickly as possible after matches are complete. This is to ensure that we have the minimum number of players in our venue at one time. Similar to the spectators rule we are doing all we can to ensure that we take as many precautions as we can on and off the court to ensure the health and safety of our players. * On court conduct Again we thank our players for being so amazingly understanding of all the changes that we have all had to take on to keep our sports running during this very tough time. We ask that you all keep up the great work on the courts to ensure that we reduce contact and social distancing where possible. We understand that sport requires at times close proximity to players, however if we can reduce the times that we are close even by a percentage we are giving ourselves the best chances possible to restrict any infections of any kind between players. * Off court conduct Off court we ask that all players maintain social distancing at all times and this includes seating and using the correct entries and exits. Both venues are clearly marked for entries and exits and also where seating is assigned. Lastly thank you to all the teams that continue to support us. Without your support we could not have made it this far. I would also like to thank our amazing staff that have had to adapt so quickly and to have done such an amazing job to get us back up and running so smoothly.

14.01.2022 In light of today's update to restrictions, we wanted to provide you with an update regarding our operations. As we have a COVID Safe plan in effect, we are not currently affected by restrictions on public gatherings and can operate as normal. With this in mind, it is important that we all place emphasis or our role in keeping each other and our community safe. Please note the following:... * Strictly no spectators will be allowed at the venue unless prior approval has been given due to unavoidable reasons,e.g parent / guardian/ carer. Please make sure all team members are aware of this to avoid disappointment. * Please remember to follow all signage and directions regarding entrance and exit routes and social distancing for seating areas. * Enter the venue just before your game and leave promptly afterwards. Please avoid arriving early and waiting inside by the playing areas. * Wash hands / use santiser provided at the centre on arrival, as well as before and after games. * When not playing, follow social distancing guidelines as much as possible. *If you are feeling unwell for any reason please do not attend the venue. Some COVID symptoms appear to be irregular in regard to respiratory illness - please don't risk others by assuming it is a minor sickness. Please get in touch with us if you have any concerns, and please keep safe and look after one another.

14.01.2022 Unfortunately we have to close the centre and cancel all games until Monday 11th Jan in line with QLD Government regulations. The immediate impact of this will be the full cancellation of all Friday & Sunday competitions this weekend. We hope that the scheduled restrictions will be lifted as planned by Monday 11th Jan at 6pm and we can resume normal operations, but we will be in close contact with health groups and local government to ensure that we do not reopen unless it i...s safe to do so. If you have and concerns or questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Please look after one another and stay safe, follow government advice, and have consideration for the vulnerable members of our community.
