25.01.2022 Hi Bunbury Badminton Big Smash Series fans. We on closing in on our 6th Big Smash Series - Once again being sponsored by Daniel Tham from Eversmile Dental Clinic. Its being held in Bunbury on Saturday 31st October. Because it is a small 1 day event (that is 5 teams of 4 in two divisions) - there are limited places available but we are still seeking players. Division 1 is complete - this year Bunbury is only hosting two division 1 teams - wheras in the past - it has been 3 tea...ms with Mandurah and Perth forming the other 2 teams. So Perth is coming back to defend their title and are looking for 3 titles in a row - while we in Bunbury are looking to stop them. Daniel Tham is putting together some secret weapons in his team. Division 2 team winners for the last 2 years - Manjiup-Pemberton are stepping up this year to have a crack at Division 1 with a lower South West-ish team. What does this mean for Division 2 ? Well Division 2 is not going to look much different from Division 1 - at least with number one and two players. Division 1 teams are Nominating their own teams members and Division 2 is as well to an extent - as I will try and intervene to create a nearly balanced division. I have three complete teams and am needing to fill two more teams. Its not a first in best dressed invitation because the standard in Division 2 is already high and I need to create balance. But yes - I would definitely like to hear from you. 23.01.2022 A call out to all young people and parents. Our free "Come and Try" events are coming up next week for Junior players to have a go at badminton. The coaching season will subsequently commence at the beginning of term 2 for junior players who nominate for the season. Come on down, meet the coaches and bring along your questions! We'll also have our shop open for those players who would like to purchase racquets, grips or other badminton equipment. Having non-marking court shoes on is essential whilst racquets are desirable but not compulsory, as we have racquets available to borrow. See you all there at 6pm sharp.

21.01.2022 It might be bucketing down outside, but nothing can dampen the enthusiasm of the 2020 Southwest Bunbury Open! Finals are about to get under way, with a big crowd already here at the Hay Park complex.

21.01.2022 2020 Eversmile Big Smash Series ready to Launch Saturday 31st October. We are still looking for Volunteer time-keepers for 2 hours stints. 9-11am 11am to 1 and 1 to 3. Great Opportunity to keep things in order and watch some thrilling Badminton. The Big Smash series is a timed event - each game being 8 minutes and two minute intermission - therefore it is a very important job. Would also appreciate helpers to prepare afternoon tea from about 2pm. local players are asked to bring some food to share. We have 4 visiting teams.

07.01.2022 2020 Eversmile Big Smash series has been concluded. With the 3 Bunbury teams we had in Division one - the team that came 3rd on the day went closest to beating the eventual winners from Perth - getting equal games of 3 and 3. So it was the Perth team Ascending Phoenix once again reigning supreme on the day - winning 3 matches and drawing one. While in the second Division - Perth team Ferocious Panthers - were clear winners by winning all 4 matches. Out of the Bunbury teams - ...Sir George of Smashalot and Soul Swat put in admiral performances winning 3 and 2 matches respectively. Daniel Tham of Eversmile Dental Bunbury - was pleased with the High Standard of Badminton played on the day and is eager to support the Big Smash Series into future years with the hope that he can put together a winning team for Bunbury in 2021.
