22.01.2022 Samaritan's Purse is a non-profit Christian organisation who sends Operation Christmas Child (OCC) shoeboxes to children worldwide. Australia and New Zealand sent gift filled shoe boxes to the Southeast Pacific Islands. In 2019 Western Australians packed and send 28 377 boxes or gospel opportunities to children in these receiving countries. The goal for 2020 is to pack more than 30 000 boxes in WA to bless more children. Betsie Kruger is the area Coordinator for the greater ...Bunbury area and would love to see the Bunbury area pack and send 1 000 boxes this year. She does have pre-printed shoe boxes which cost 50 cents each. The boxes need to be packed with items which will clear customs, will not damage the box or harm/frighten the child. A list of items can be provided. Samaritan's Purse asks for a $10 donation for each packed box to assist with the logistics in sending a box overseas/training staff/storing boxes etc. A booklet called The Greatest Journey is handed to each child receiving a box. This booklet is a snapshot of who Jesus is. Children will have the opportunity to join a 12 week Discipleship program after receiving boxes. She can do a PowerPoint presentation depicting the effects these gift filled boxes have on a recipient.
