13.01.2022 Our daughter turns one TODAY! What does she love most in the world? Our cat, Steve So of course, it had to be a cat cake for today's special day! . Using our Wilton cat cake tin, I was able to create a personalised grey tabby cake for her. It brought such JOY when she saw it this morning! That is why making our own cakes is such a beautiful experience . This cake has a layer of mascarpone and cream with lots of sliced strawberries inside too. 11.01.2022 Wishing A VERY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all mothers today. And to all grandma's and people who care for other people's children. THANK YOU. . I'm especially grateful to my Mum who always encouraged our creative pursuits. She is the most creative person I know and she even made our wedding cake - it was something of fairy tales . Mum also makes the most beautiful nappy cakes when a baby is born! (pictures to come in a later post). I think her love of cakes has descended onto... me now! . Cakes bring people together. They celebrate and honour special people on special occasions. People sing around a cake, they smile and are happy. I just love what cakes do. They're not just cakes - they're beauty, they're memories, they are a celebration. . So today, I hope that you might be able to enjoy time with loved ones, in person or via a screen, and share cake together . Today, I enjoyed using my five layer cake pan and new 8B open star decorating tip to make a Strawberries & Cream cake. Pink ultra vanilla sponge cake, very vanilla bean Swiss meringue & American buttercream, five vanilla bean marscapone and cream layers inside that are each topped with generous amounts of sliced strawberries.
