25.01.2022 Junior Games Friday 14 August The Club has been fielding a number of queries regarding if games are proceeding this Friday night due to the Ekka Public Holiday (Brisbane). YES junior fixtures are still proceeding this Friday night.... Also, the game times now published within the draw are the actual start time of the games, as the 10 minute Covid transition period has been included with the draw.

24.01.2022 This afternoon was the second Wildcats FD10 Skills Training Camp run by legendary player & coach Francis Donders. After a massive weekend of club & representative fixtures, the girls dug deep, committed to developing their skill sets, but more so had fun in a supportive environment. Wildcats & Francis are already planning more Girls only camps in the near future, so stay tuned.

18.01.2022 On Monday night the Wildcats U14G & YDL had Cr Adelia Berridge (Division 9) visit to announce that Capalaba Wildcats had been successful in attaining the Councillors Community Benefit Grant. This grant will be used to purchase essential training equipment for our Club, ensuring all 4 teams training each time slot will have access. On behalf of our Club, we say thank you Adelia and Redlands City Council.

16.01.2022 CAPALABA WILDCATS TO POWERUP Capalaba Wildcats Basketball Club are excited to announce that they have joined forces with Toronto based firm PowerUp Sports, to deliver an integrated online sports management system. PowerUp Sports is an extremely powerful and efficient package, that will revolutionise the day to day management of our Wildcats Club, beginning with Wildcats 2021 Season 1 Registrations in the coming weeks.... Wildcats members will create an online account through PowerUp Sports that will allow them to: Register for future seasons Pay Wildcats Season Fees online and keep financial records Purchase Wildcats merchandise online Register for specialised training sessions / camps Wildcats Club Noticeboards for Club announcements / news Plus much more. Through the Club’s agreement with PowerUp, Wildcats join the River City Hornets Basketball Club, as the only two basketball clubs in Australia using this powerful sports management system. The Wildcats Committee are excited by what PowerUp Sports offers not only our members, however the streamlining of club processes around registration, the building and maintaining of team lists and vital communication channels. The Club is hopeful to launch the Wildcats PowerUp Sports System in early January 2021, so stay tuned for further updates.

15.01.2022 The Club has been fielding a lot of queries regarding spectator numbers for this weekend with the Qld Govt easing restrictions. Our Club has sourced this & hope it helps clear up some confusion. COVID RESTRICTIONS UPDATE Basketball Queensland has released information regarding the easing of restrictions announced by the Premier on Friday and how they relate to indoor sporting venues. Specifically, the changes announced on Friday to take effect from 17 November 2020 that affec...t indoor premises are: Gatherings: Increase gatherings in homes and public spaces from 40 to 50 people across Queensland. Indoor premises: Increase from one per person per 4m2 to one per person per 2m2 (e.g. restaurants, cafes, pubs, clubs, museums, art galleries, places of worship, convention centres and Parliament House). Indoor play areas within a premises can open too. Indoor events: Seated, ticketed venues to increase from 50% to 100% with patrons to wear masks on entry and exit (e.g. theatre, live music, cinemas and indoor sports). Performers can reduce distance from audience from 4m to 2m, except choirs which remain at 4m from the audience. Our COVID restrictions are dictated to us in the Indoor Sports Group Industry COVID Safe Plan. As the eased restrictions announced on Friday have not yet been included in this plan and we have not been advised when this will occur, we cannot advise you with any certainty when or if this will occur. As we have done throughout the restrictions, we will update you as soon as there is any change that will impact our members and their families. Until then, there are no changes to our current restrictions. #purpledestruction

Ann attended both as a Representative from our Wildcats Club, plus to to present the Sam Johnson Spirit Award. What an awesome night has had by all in attendance! ... The friendly staff at The Plantation will mark off all Wildcat players, coaches, assistant coaches and managers as you enter.... Look for the pergolas with the purple balloons, as that is where all the Wildcats fun will be at. A small presentation will be made at 1.30 for U10G Pumas, U10B Panther, U12B Panthers and U16B Jaguars as their Coaches have RedCity Roar Representative games. However, due to the current Covid situation, regarding border closures (and uncertainty about their reopening) our initial plan, has had to be set aside. 02.01.2022 Wildcats Celebrate This morning our great Club reached a significant milestone in the basketball landscape, as we entered our 8th Junior Girls team, solidifying our spot as the biggest club east of the Gateway Motorway for junior girls participation in basketball. This being the Clubs 27th team, means that still within our first year of existence as a Club, we have surpassed quite a few Clubs at our neighbouring associations (Spartans, Pirates, Thunder) for registered junior...s & team numbers. What a great achievement Wildcats Family, you should all be very proud of yourselves & on behalf of the Wildcats Management Committee , we say thank you & stay tuned for more exciting news for our Club!
