15.01.2022 Stirrup length affects your riding posture and your balance and your horses' back comfort and movement. The only reason your stirrups should be different length...s is if your legs are different lengths. Your seat bones must sit equally in the saddle. (riders with scoliosis need individual attention and training). Longer stirrups lead to more weight in the seat. Shorter stirrups lead to more weight in your feet. Learning to ride with different lengths is a necessary skill for all riders. Adapting your stirrup length to the discipline you participate in is your goal. Good balance and weight distribution (graceful movement) for you and your horse are essential. Check symmetry often.

13.01.2022 While it is true that I have stopped a few racehorse from ending up on the doggers truck, I have also worked with so many Thoroughbreds over the years that have come to me by their owners or trainers to be given a good start to their next career change. There will always be a need for improvement in the racing industry where it is true that some horses are treated poorly both on and after the track, but it is also true that there are a lot of people out there that genuinely c...are and love their racehorses and they want a good life for them after racing. They receive wonderful care whilst racing and are given the opportunity to have a new career and become a part of a loving family. I have had many owners and trainers keep in touch with their horses new owners when they go to their new homes and being such a versatile breed they often end up in so many new disciplines. Thank you to those whom I have met and for their wonderful horses that have crossed my path over the years, several of them having lived their final days out in my paddock once retired. See more
