24.01.2022 International Day Against Nuclear Tests is on the 29th of August to remember the first U.S Nuclear Test. On this day, we recognise that Nuclear Testing is harmful to the world and its inhabitants. Nuclear Testing causes toxins to be released into the atmosphere and radioactive material into the environment, affecting the health of humans and the environment. This goes against the teachings of Jesus as we are harming the land He has gifted us with. Showing Stewardship is important as it shows God that we are responsible and capable of looking after the gifts He has given us. In this case, it is the environment but also applies to the talents and knowledge God has gifted to us. On this day, we also pray for peace so that these weapons dont have to be used in our world.

12.01.2022 Our Lady of Czestochowa, or Polands Black Madonna, is a very popular image of the Blessed Virgin that carries Jesus as Son. Under that title, Mary is Polands Patron and Protector. Since Marys profile is very dark she is dubbed the Black Madonna. This darkening of the image comes from centuries of hiding, and the many years of soot and smoke from candles that illuminate the icon. We pray to Our Lady of Czestochowa for her blessing on our school community.

11.01.2022 Year 12 Hospitality participated in their last beverage practical lesson. Mr Dickinson Leading of Learning - VET) worked alongside Mrs Brown. The students created three trending Mocktails under industry standards and time frames. Congratulations ladies.

11.01.2022 Australian Citizenship Day is an opportunity for all Australians to reflect on the meaning and importance of Australian Citizenship, the responsibilities and privileges all Australians are introduced to upon their arrival or birth in this virtuous nation. Whether we are citizens through birth or by active choice, it is a chance for all Australians to take pride in our citizenship, celebrate the democratic values and what unites our nation as one. It instigates a day that shows the great strength that diversity possesses with our multicultural society, and allows us to celebrate it.

11.01.2022 We were so proud to hand over a massive donation of toiletries to Denise (pictured), Mary and Vanessa from DV West Penrith, an organisation providing services to women and children who have experienced domestic violence. A further donation of $740 was made to DV West, with money raised through the sale of ribbons and other events. Well done Hannah, well done Kenny House, well done Caroline Chisholm College! #community #charity #support #domesticviolence Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta

06.01.2022 On this day, Good Friday 2nd of April 2021, we acknowledge Jesus Christ and his crucifixion. We remember his suffering, death on the cross and fervour. Most Christians will recognise this by fasting, praying, repenting or meditating.

05.01.2022 Martin Luther King Jr was an American Christian minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the civil rights movement. On the 28th of August 1963, Martin Luther King Jr delivered the speech which called for civil and economic rights and to put an end to racism in the United States. This speech also called for equality and freedom among all people and to be seen as equals no matter their background. This speech was a defining moment in the civil rights movement and has become a critical part of not only American history but the rest of the world. This year we remember the dream that Martin Luther King Jr had as we pray for the strength to strive for freedom and fight for equality in our society.

05.01.2022 The First Sunday of Advent occurs this year on the 29th of November. It is a time for celebration and preparation. This joyful occasion is important to us as members of the Catholic community because we are anxiously awaiting the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. In this first week of celebrating Advent, we light the first purple candle on the advent wreath. This symbolises hope. We embrace hope as it was one of the many qualities Jesus Christ displayed throughout his life. During the coming week, we focus on adopting and demonstrating hope in our lives as Jesus did. We hope that in the light of Jesus’ goodness and divine example, we may achieve a deeper connection with God and others during this holy period of the liturgical calendar.

05.01.2022 The annual Public Speaking competition has certainly become a tradition at Caroline Chisholm College, a contest where students in Years 7 -10 are asked to prepare and deliver a speech to their English class, choosing from a selection of stimulus options. Congratulations to the following students who were deemed to be the strongest and most engaging... speakers in their cohort. 03.01.2022 Alanah Eisenhuth is the recipient of the Bishop of Parramattas Award for Student Excellence for Caroline Chisholm College for 2020 is Alanah Eisenhuth. The Bishop of Parramattas Award for Student Excellence is normally presented at a formal liturgy and presentation at St Patricks Cathedral each year. This year, because of COVID-19 restrictions, we have been asked to present this award at school. Alanah embodies our college motto of Faith, Courage and Tolerance. She has sho...wn outstanding leadership of and involvement in the College Community, culminating in her appointment as College Captain. Alanah demonstrates a strong commitment to helping others, exemplifying the College Charism by utilising her gifts to inspire and advocate for all the young women within the college community. She has been involved in activities such as the peer mentor program, Vinnies Van and Liturgy initiatives. 03.01.2022 Today, our new crucifix was installed in our chapel by Anthony Russo, a liturgical artist from Orchard Design. The crucifix is an expression of the most important beliefs of Catholicism: that Jesus is the Son of God who was crucified and rose from the dead. It is our symbol of hope and of God's limitless love for us, his children. The artist was asked to create a crucifix which is more about the hope of the resurrection than the horror of the crucifixion, and which would be an object that would inspire us to pray. Mr Mark Herrick, who was a teacher at Chisholm before he died in 2019, left money in his Will to help pay for the crucifix. We are very grateful for this.
