23.01.2022 Troubling Events! a Christian Response - by Dan Hewitt 1. Troubling events (e.g. wars, pandemic disease, etc) always result from mans’ sin (our deliberate offense against God) or our sinfulness (our human weakness and ignorance) a. God doesn’t send punishment on us (though people in Old Testament times saw it differently) but rather, our rejection of God causes Him to ‘step away’ from our issues since He is Love, and Love will not force itself on us if we don’t want Him. When... God steps back, Satan steps in, and he will gladly lead us into suffering and disaster. b. Many natural disasters would never happen if the world only invited Jesus in, and sought His forgiveness, mercy and help! 2. Troubles can be seen as ‘the flood that tests our faith’ (see Mt 7: 24 27). God doesn’t send troubles but they do become the opportunity to test (and perfect) our faith. Our faith will determine how we respond to the trouble; little or no faith can lead to troubles becoming BIG TROUBLES! Strong faith can lead to troubles subsiding peacefully. Our health may diminish; our finances may be eroded; important physical supplies may be absent but what comes of all of this is determined by our faith. 3. Pray prayers of protection for yourself and others! (e.g. Ps 91 You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High ). The wording doesn’t matter but take time to ask God’s protection and blessing! 4. Remember how you have seen God work in your life in the past. Trust that He is there now! (See David and Saul story, 1 Sam 17: 32 34). 5. Trusting God doesn’t guarantee that no suffering will come your way; but it guarantees that only God’s will is going to come about in your life and the lives of your loved ones. 6. Disastrous times bring people to Jesus even if only during the disaster. We are the hands and feet of Christ so be ready to share your faith with others and to pray with others. At times we can have a serves you right! attitude toward those who reject the gospel but, remember, we are called to LOVE all as God Himself loves them! See more

19.01.2022 This prophetic word was sent to me after last week's praise time: As we sang " I have decided to follow Jesus" song: I saw a vision of a big wooden Cross in a small dark room and suddenly I saw Jesus standing in front of the Cross with His glory shining. He was wearing a white robe. He looks like a middle-aged person. He was standing with two open arms stretching out to us, calling us back to Him, telling us to draw close to Him only. I feel calm. Thank you, Lord Jesus.... - Dan Hewitt
