22.01.2022 Great news for 2021- CCNB have been directly commissioned to deliver the Way Back Support service across our region. We are very excited about this. It means that our current Seasons Program will cease to be funded by the PHN but instead we get more resources to support 350 people a year following a suicide attempt. We will work closely to support people that have had a suicide attempt or crisis. The Way Back was developed by Beyond Blue and is designed to support people who... have recently experienced suicidal crisis or had an attempted suicide. The Way Back provides non- clinical, practical support in the community for up to their months. Participation is voluntary. After leaving hospital, a CCNB care coordinator will work with a person for up to three months to develop and put in place a personalised support plan based on their needs. This can include Encouraging and supporting a person following discharge from hospital or community mental health service; Working to develop a safety plan; Referring and connecting to clinical and community-based support services; Helping a person make, keep and attend appointments with other services; Supporting a person to set and reach their lifestyle goals e.g. housing, work, relationships, schooling etc., Keeping in regular touch to help a person keep on track touch via phone or text, depending on what you prefer. 16.01.2022 During NADIOC week we want to celebrate the life and works of local, accomplished artist, Mick Glasheen. CCNB currently supports Mick to remain living independently in his own home, ensuring he is able to continue to get the most out of life! Mick has been a pioneering force in the fields of experimental film and interactive media. His large scale scroll drawings are of major Garigal rock engraving sites and celebrate the art and science of the Indigenous people of the regi...on. For the past twenty-five years, living on the Northern Beaches, he has been drawing and painting the Hawkesbury sandstone landscape of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park with a vision of creating art that becomes an immersive 360 degree experience. His artwork seeks to re-enact the original engraving of ‘drawing on the land’ itself, a unique Australian Aboriginal contribution to the history of art. We are proud to display this wonderful piece of artwork at CCNB called, "Sea Eagle Over the Edge, 2016." #NAIDOC2020 #naidocweek #NAIDOC See more
