25.01.2022 The Crystal Piano in action

24.01.2022 Another video of the Crystal piano, a unique looking piano for sure!

15.01.2022 This 110-year-old Bosendorfer recently went back to its owner after having an extensive restoration of the internals and case. Some time during the 1950's it became a white piano - unsuprisingly the owner wanted it returned to it's original high gloss black French Polished finish. We put in around 300 hours into this one, and the end result is a beautiful piano that will be around for at least another 50 years for more generations of enjoyment!

09.01.2022 This is incredible!! A 100-seater amphitheatre which is made entirely from unwanted pianos Wish we could get to Edinburgh to check this out!

07.01.2022 We put in around 400 hours fully restoring this early 1900's English Chappell Concert grand for a client. It was in original condition when it arrived in the workshop so we gave it a complete overhaul. The Rosewood cabinet was stripped back to bare timber and then French polished by hand by our highly experienced French polishers which took around 270 hours in total! We removed the iron frame and re sprayed it gold. Repaired minor cracks in the soundboard then re varnished. ...Fitted all new strings, new tuning pins, all new felts, new hammers/shanks/rollers, repaired the keyboard, action regulation and multiple tunings. All of this work results in much improved tone with a huge bass. The action work results in a more responsive touch with a better dynamic range between soft and very loud and after the new strings stretch and settle in over 6 - 8 tunings in the workshop much better tuning stability for many more generations of enjoyment!

03.01.2022 Really honoured to be approached by ABC Radio Melbourne presenter Libbi Gorr recently, to participate in a fun segment on pianolas. Libbi thinks they are a time machine to music in the early 1900's, and we'd have to agree! Listeners called in to pedal their pianolas for a bit of a laugh (and exercise!), while learning more about them. Thought we'd share with all those that missed it! Enjoy!

01.01.2022 We recently carried out a full restoration on this extremely rare Bechstein model M Grand for a client in NSW, with the main brief being to preserve the artwork that was hand drawn in the factory back when it was made in the late 1920's. The internals were also fully restored, resulting in huge improvements in terms of tone, touch and tuning stability, and obviously appearance!
