22.01.2022 Celebrating Our Volunteers - National Volunteer Week 2020 . The only reason that many of us can do the things we love is because of volunteers. It's because of their generosity with their time and expertise that so many people get to do things that they might not experience in their lifetime. . For those of us in theatre, it’s the set, costumes and performances of our volunteers that take us and our audiences to another world that helps us forget for just a couple of hour...s what might be troubling us in our real world. Add to that the friendships that are made from those we volunteer alongside when sharing our common interests - this might be the greatest benefit of all. . #volunteerweek #volunteers #volunteer #clocmusical #clocmusicaltheatre #musicaltheatre #nationaltheatre #wewillbeback See more

19.01.2022 Who misses the Electricity? We know we do, thank you for the memories and inspiration BAAC Light.

10.01.2022 ### Our Peers, Our Friends, Need Our Help ### As we move towards the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions it is clear that the resumption of the arts is going to continue to be a long and challenging road. Some organisations will be able to pick up where they left off, but others will need time to re-build, re-invent and re-engage. What this means for many of our peers and friends whose lives depend on the arts, whether it be onstage, offstage, in the ticket office, ush...ering, musicians in the pit (the list really does go on) is that the road back to being in a true position of financial independence is many many months away. As a non-profit community organisation CLOC is very fortunate to benefit from many of these individuals and asks, that if you can, and only if you can, that you consider a contribution to the Victorian Actors Benevolent Trust (VABT). Since 1958 the VABT has been providing emergency financial assistance to those in the entertainment industry who, through poor health or ill fortune, find themselves with nowhere else to turn. The VABT is a not-for-profit charity run by a committee of members who work within and outside of the entertainment industry. They generously give of their time to raise funds and provide financial assistance to those who call on the VABT in their time of need. As we come out the other side of the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of the arts will be more important than ever, to provide a laugh, a smile, that feeling of normality. It won’t look the same, it won’t feel the same but that joy we get from being entertained will do nothing but lift the spirits of all those around. Donations can be made at www.vabt.com.au/donate

06.01.2022 Celebrating Our Volunteers - National Volunteer Week 2020 . Our world would be a much sadder place without volunteers and CLOC would not exist without them. And for those of us who volunteer, there is the joy of being a part of an extended family with others who have a similar passion. It is also watching the faces of those audience members to whom we bring great joy and in particular for me, our very senior citizens who come to our Sunday matinee on a very special excursion ...with a family member and who for months after, will talk about their wonderful day at the theatre where our efforts transported them to another time and place. Shout out also to the volunteers on the CLOC Crew. It would have been closing night this Saturday and I am missing you though bump-out is not always our favourite task!! . 02.01.2022 People who don’t volunteer don’t understand why anyone would work so hard for nothing. Nothing? Look at the people I meet and work with:... - wonderful people who care about others and give of themselves for total strangers. - amazing people who believe that serving others is its own reward. - a family joined together in common purpose who prove over and over again that a bunch of individuals sharing a single goal can do extraordinary things. - people who justify the saying Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless. Muhammad Ali said a lot of stuff, but nothing more profound than that service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth. People who don’t volunteer don’t understand. Thanks to all who do understand. #volunteerweek #volunteers #volunteer #clocmusical #clocmusicaltheatre #musicaltheatre #nationaltheatre #wewillbeback
