24.01.2022 The Poker Dad knows the ins and outs of many poker card games. It takes a lot of skill to be a master in poker. He knows how to read a room of players and recognise when someone is bluffing. In the same way, he knows how to bluff without anyone noticing. He has good decision making and money management skills, has a sharp focus and patience, and is dedicated to whatever he sets his mind to.

22.01.2022 PHOTO OF THE DAY: "Three eagles brawl" John and Miriam Gowing spotted these three on a lake not far from their home. John says he often observes one eagle at this location but has never seen three at once. Apparently, the eagle in the air was not happy to see the two perched in the tree!

22.01.2022 The Old-School dad is always a cool dad. He is a traditionalist who prefers to do things the way they have been done in the past, he is manicured, always putting his best foot forward and wouldn’t want it in any other way. Don’t think of him as stubborn who refuses to learn something new, he is just old-fashioned and comfortable in his own space. Old souls like him are very few and far between, so go all classic when planning for his present. For instance, shoe polishing has become a rare thing today, so consider gifting him a shoe care set such as a horsehair booty brush and renovating shoe cream. Make showers soothing with goat’s milk soap. Perhaps an old-fashioned snack with a twist, like dark chocolate-covered liquorice, can give him something to feel nostalgic about. You could learn a thing or two from this dad.

19.01.2022 Charming a sophisticated, this dad is your rock. He enjoys the fine things in life and will not lower his standards. 16.01.2022 Just over a year ago Toni Doherty rescued a koala from the flames at a fire ground near Wauchope. Named Ellenborough Lewis, but lovingly known as Lewis the Koala, he was cared for by the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital Port Macquarie Clinical Director Cheyne Flanagan as well as home carer Barbara. She fed him around the clock, hydrated him and provided pain relief. Every effort was made but tragically, Lewis the Koala died. World recognised sculptors Gillie and Marc Art were touched by the story and created a sculpture in honour of Lewis. The sculpture has been generously donated to Port Central and was unveiled this morning. This memorial reminds us of the importance of human compassion and the role we play in conservation. See the sculpture and read more at Port Central now

12.01.2022 We all know the Bookworm Dad the kind you rarely see without his nose stuck in a book, magazine, or any piece of reading material in hand. It’s not like he prefers reading over the company of people, because they are known for keeping silent for hours on end, it’s just that he likes to see his reading through to the end. They are also known for disliking any form of disturbance. That means he enjoys the peace and quiet, especially when he is at home

06.01.2022 The Soccer Dad is the kind who likes to yell at the TV and gets a kick out of a soccer ball flying around the field. He roots for his favourite team, so it’s best not to get on his bad side by cheering against it. But he knows it’s all for fun and for the love of the game! If he is not watching the game in front of the television at home or at the local sports bar, he may likely be watching it at the stadium with his fellow Soccer Dads. The former professional soccer player also has his own brand of other body care products for men, such as a gift set with deodorant and shower gel.

He has a complete set of coffee making equipment, the finest coffee grounds, and steams his milk all in the comfort of his personal coffee bar at home. Sometimes, he goes for the instant coffee, especially when he is on the go. Feed this dad’s obsession with coffee by gifting him a bag of Arabica ground coffee beans. Get a French press coffee maker to add to his collection at the bar. And what goes well with coffee? Biscuits!
