23.01.2022 We had a great catchup today with Mayor Danny Said, Randwick City Council and some of the other amazing local volunteers and organisations fundraising for those impacted by the bushfires. Keep an eye out for the Lions bushfire buckets this Australia Day - we will be at Coogee Beach collecting donations for the Australian Lions Foundations National Appeal which is helping Lions Clubs in affected areas support those in need in their community. Lions are all volunteers who pay membership fees to cover our admin so when donating to our buckets you can be sure every dollar goes directly to the cause!

23.01.2022 Thank you to all who made it to our Coogee Lions meeting on Wednesday. A big thank you to our special guests - District Governor Jon Copson, Past District Governor Elvio Munzone and our Zone Chair Nigel Jeny. It was wonderful to see you all and hear some of the inspirational work other lions clubs have been doing. 22.01.2022 With Australia currently facing what could be its worst bushfire crises in history, Coogee Lions are on a mission to do what we can do help those affected. We will be out in the community this week raising funds for the Australian Lions Foundation National Appeal. The Foundation has been working closely with Lions Clubs on the ground to get emergency support to communities as quickly as possible. Thank you to all who donated today at Coogee Bay Hotel. Your generosity was o...verwhelming with even Maddie from the staff at CBH donating her tips to our appeal. Thanks Maddie! Keep an eye out for us at Royal Randwick shopping centre this week. Every donation counts and 100 % of funds donated will go directly to helping those in need!

22.01.2022 At Lions, we proudly pay annual fees to cover our admin costs. So if you see Lions volunteers out in the community raising money, you can be sure every dollar you donate will go towards the cause!

Whilst COVID-19 is limiting how Coogee Lions conduct our meetings and fundraising we would still love to be able to lend a helping hand to people in need. 16.01.2022 This week we said farewell to a long time Coogee Lion and great friend, Trish Bosley was a Member for over 10 years and was our Treasure for several of those years... Trish always had a smile on her face and was great fun at all our events, especially the socials. Trish had a passion for helping others and was a great mentor to our younger members. Trish has been fighting cancer over the past few years. She never complained, just got on with life. She was a special lady and we were very lucky to have been able to call her our friend...Rest in Peace Trish.

With the generous support of our local community we have proudly raised over $16000 for the Australian Lions Foundation National Bushfire Appeal! 100 % of these funds are supporting Lions clubs in affected areas who are helping their communities recover and rebuild. 11.01.2022 Thank you so much to all who donated to our bushfire buckets on Australia Day and a big thanks to the Coogee Dolphins Sports Club who joined us in collecting donations. We are proud to confirm we raised another $1800 for the Australian Lions Foundation National Bushfire Appeal. To date, with the generous support of our local community Coogee Lions has raised over $16000 to support those impacted by the bushfires! Lions volunteers pay membership fees to cover our admin cost...s which means 100% of funds donated goes directly towards supporting those impacted. From local shopping vouchers, food and emergency supplies to large shipping containers and water tanks, Lions Clubs in affected areas have already been using funds from the national appeal to support those in need in their community.

Our friends at Little Care Packs have put together Dance 4 Difference to bring back some fun, social connections and support those in need. We were lucky to have lots of volunteers out in Randwick including Jodie and the lovely girls from Little Care Packs! A big thank you to our wonderful friends at Platinum Pre School Randwick who have been collecting donations as well. Just this weekend alone we raised over $2500!!!... 06.01.2022 Coogee Lions support a range of incredible causes and initiatives including Destiny Rescue. Millions of children around the world are trafficked or trapped in sexual exploitation with little hope for freedom. Destiny Rescue provides hope for these children, rescuing them from red light districts, brothels and sexually abusive situations and providing them with medical help, counselling, schooling, vocational training and all daily needs required to be integrated back into so...ciety successfully. Since the official recording of rescues commenced, 5,000 victims of trafficking and sexual slavery have found freedom and a chance to live a blessed life. The partnership between Disaster Relief Australia and Lions will provide veterans the opportunity to get involved in the incredible projects and initiatives lead by Lions clubs. 04.01.2022 Another great Coogee Lions virtual catch up. Thank you to the wonderful Keith Donnelly for dialling in and sharing your story with us. Keith is the founder of Keiths Closet - a great initiative supporting people with mental health. Situated in the heart of the Kiloh Centre mental health facility at Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick, this fantastic walk in wardrobe style room supports the mental health patients from inpatient and community settings who are encouraged to co...me and choose from a variety of new and high end quality clothing/accessories free of charge. Many of us have been cleaning out our wardrobes in isolation and this is a great place to donate items! Keith is on a mission to grow and provide Keiths Closets to all mental health units nationwide and beyond whilst continuing to find ways to offer as much support and assistance to those living in our community who suffer daily.
