17.01.2022 We support responsible breeders of purpose bred dogs! Share a photo of yours in the comments below! Choosing a purpose bred dog has the advantage of a certain ...amount of predictability. You'll know about how big the dog will get, what kind of grooming they'll need, you'll have an idea of their temperament and with a responsible breeder, you'll get a lifetime of support from a breed expert! 16.01.2022 Time to do another Happy Birthday wish - this time to our girl "Brooke" - Ch Copperkee Anzac Pride N Honour as today she turned 11 years old. Not always the ea...siest girl to live with and we had many firsts with her. She was not allowed any toys as she was notorious for everything going down the throat. Surgery at just under 18 months old to remove a rope toy (and very lucky she survived that). First litter she delivered 12 babies and decided at 2 days that was a bit much, so around the clock sitting with her to feed them. Then she got severe mastitis a few weeks later and blew a big hole in her side. She also liked the local wildlife - bringing us lizards, snakes, possums and even a white cockatoo. She still catches the odd pigeon but with them she leaves nothing but a few feathers. But we love her none the less. Happy 11th Birthday Woogie !! - Debbie Creagh Jamie Creagh See more

10.01.2022 This is something you should all see. When you get your 8/10 week old puppies, please keep this image in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet. When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this per...iod you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited, bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in. But when you're letting puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile wit no traction you are damaging the joint. You only get the change to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one. Once grown you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once. This is a baby puppy who had a knock to his elbow and wasn't using it properly. There is nothing wrong in these x-rays, thankfully it is a soft tissue injury and he is expected to be fine.

09.01.2022 "Just a generation ago if you went near a dog when he was eating and the dog growled, somebody would say, 'Don't go near the dog when he's eating!, what are you... crazy?' Now the dog gets euthanized. Back then, dogs were allowed to say, NO. Dogs are not allowed to say no anymore...They can't get freaked out, they can't be afraid, they can never signal 'I'd rather not.' We don't have any kind of nuance with regard to dogs expressing that they are uncomfortable, afraid, angry, or in pain, worried, or upset. If the dog is anything other than completely sunny and goofy every second, he goes from a nice dog to an 'AGGRESSIVE' dog." - Jean Donaldson See more

08.01.2022 To all our puppy owners, dog friends and fellow Labrador enthusiasts....wishing you all a very Merry Xmas and a safe and Happy New Year - Best Wishes from Debbie and Jamie at Copperkee Labradors xoxoxo

08.01.2022 ******* PLEASE NOTE - that we apologise of any delay in replying to Emails or messages. We are experiencing a high volume of enquires at this time and at this stage we dont have anymore confirmed pregnancies. Any pregnancies already confirmed with other people will be filled from our waiting list first where they have vacancies. We are also expecting a few more girls to visit us however please note a lot of breeders are experiencing a huge volume of enquires at this time so wait lists could be quite long. We are doing our best to try and meet everyones needs but we are in the hands of Mother Nature at the moment. ******** (Please note photo is only for attention and is of one of our new up and coming girls Copperkee Back In Black Malibu who is now 7 months old.)

07.01.2022 Well we did it. We are proud to announce our first Rainbow litter. Late last night we welcomed 9 babies into the world. Sadly one yellow girl was born with ...her angel wings. But we have 8 healthy babies. We have 4 yellow girls, 2 black girls, 1 chocolate girl and 1 yellow boy my Lone Ranger. Yes from 9 babies only 1 boy. The proud parents are Copperkee You Light My Fire Cali and Ch Copperkee Zippity Doodah Copper.

07.01.2022 We may have a very exciting opportunity for one lucky person. We may have a yellow male available from our currently litter available for a show/breeding home only. (Please note we have plenty of pet families waiting) At only 2 weeks old he has caught my eye from the word go. However we are not in a position to keep another male at this time. If you are interested in showing/breeding then please do not hesitate to contact us further.

03.01.2022 Thought I'd better post up this milestone in our girls lives so a very Happy 12th Birthday to two of our girls. Kirra "Ch Neut Ch Copperkee Elektra" - turned 12 on the 11/02/19 (retired here now) - she was our first homebred Australian Champion (back in 2009) and more recently won RUNIG at the Brisbane Royal at 10 1/2 years of age. Kirra is the mother of Moose (our big chocolate boy). And Jazmine "Banderra Regal Samantha" turned 12 years old today (Jazzy is well loved by the Sinclair family). Jazmine was a movie star a few years back at 9 1/2 years old (photo with actress Asher Keddie on set) and she is the grandmother to our Grand Champion Copperkee Shooting Star "Hannah". Such beautiful children they have blessed us with. From little things, big things grow. Love them both to bits.

02.01.2022 Due to the high demand of people enquiring about puppies right now, we would just like to let everyone know that we do not have any puppies at the moment. We however have just done a mating and all going to plan we are expecting puppies at the end of May. Sire - Ch Copperkee American Hustler Vegas Dam - Copperkee Just Like Fire Ember ... We are expecting an all black litter with a possible chance of chocolate. We also have got a few girls lined up to come to our stud dogs in the next few weeks. We will update you upon confirmation of pregnancy with what colours they are expecting. We also are waiting on other girls to come into season. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time.
