25.01.2022 Venetian wall is finally finished @earthespresso the coolest coffee shop in town! We had to wait for the bronze wax to come in, worth the wait though! Really gives this wall depth and intrigue, movement. @ earth espresso bar

24.01.2022 Our latest renovation project comes with many new challenges. First of which, in the old section of the house we have been tasked with restoring the old, stained VJ Pine Cladding. We cant sand the cladding until we sink all the nails, and that is challenge #1 as there are thousands! Swinging a hammer above our heads would have us playing tag all day long as shoulders become jelly. So with fresh inspiration from Fresh Coat Paint Services we invested in the Basso nail puncher.... Team member Harrison affectionately known as "Sand-O" quickly took to the task of mastering this new weapon...ahem tool. Challenge #1 Overcome!

23.01.2022 We pay a chef or baker to enhance our experience of taste one of our core 5 senses. We pay a painter and decorator to enhance our experience with colour in our environment - at the core of our service, we as painters are there to change the aesthetics of the environent around us to better the everyday experience of those we serve. No offence to any interior designers. These are blanket statements and I personally know many designers who dont fall into this category. This video was made to post to the painting pages and for a painting audience. I thought it was important to share here too.

19.01.2022 A great little project. Here we painted a customers dads boat as a surprise present for him. Product used is marine grade 2k Polyurethane - Wattyl Polyu400 and we used Raptor liner to spray the top deck - for anti slip. Really happy with the finish. We used the Graco 9.5 to spray this. @ Bli Bli, Queensland

19.01.2022 Last weekend Kev attended the Love Out Loud Masterheart program. This program is designed to align our business with the internal vision of our heart Walking away from this amazing experience we now have a clearer understanding of the values and beliefs that we hold in our hearts which make us the craftsman that we are. In the coming days we will be implementing these values into our business, some changes will be immediately felt. Cant wait to take you all on this transformational journey with us!

19.01.2022 This home we have done 3 feature effects! And more to come Next to our rusty metallic entrance we have a split stone centre piece. This we may change to marmorino in the near future but for now it is done with Haymes Rendercoat from the Haymes Artisan Collection. Coloured in using all different paints mostly Haymes and the Italian metallic paint Chic Heritage. This is the first split stone feature we’ve done in a customers home

18.01.2022 This morning we are diagnosing a very weird occurrence at our favourite dental practice. We painted this place 5 years ago, for the last 4.5 years all the enamel held up very well. Then in the last few months it began to break down! There are two common factors that breakdown paint and cause it to oxidise, UV exposure (sun) and algea and bacterial growth (mould). Neither of these are the cause here, A)Its inside, and B) No mould due to strict cleaning and air conditioning.... So whats causing the sudden breakdown of our beautiful trim? The practice, due to Coronavirus guidelines has started heavy cleaning of surfaces multiple times a day!. Its the chemicals in these cleaners that are making our oil based enamel murky! And acrylic enamel would be even worse! So now the next step is to find a product which is resistant to this extreme cleaning routine. As if we just repainted with the same paint wed see the same results in 2 months. Challenge accepted! Have to look into the industrial sector we think, or potentially our secret weapon the Italian kitchen coating Sayerlack

17.01.2022 QBCC Home Warranty Insurance. We are forced to add it to the quote and purchase it on behalf of our clients. It gives you a 6 month guarantee that if we cant fix it the qbcc will pay someone else to do it. But like Nigel said, theres a 12 month warranty of you use a licensed contractor anyway? We dont like charging this extra "tax".

17.01.2022 A walk around our latest finished project. This home packed alot of challenges in a small package. Firstly, we used Duluxs new T74 Two pack paint on all trim, this was a learning experience of its own, Secondly, we had all the old paint coming off the doors and trim from the previous painter who painted it 2 years ago, so we had to strip it all back at a great time expense. Thirdly, we had stains come through the ceiling which lead us to investigate the roof space a...nd then the roof itself and find that even though it was "professionally restored" 2 years ago the roof was never prepped properly, only received 1 coat of paint and had a multitude of issues which has now lead to the homeowner getting it completely replaced. As the repair bill would equal that of a new roof. We dont just paint a home. We focus on the whole painting experience, and assist in any which way we can. 15.01.2022 1st Grounding Belief: FOCUS In this technologically gifted world focus is almost a fleeting moment. We hold the belief that to involve yourself fully to the work your doing is whats needed to excel, grow and complete the job to your best ability. Whether it be a job like masking up where we have done it countless times or a task your doing for the first time, we are always students and focus is the key to committing ourselves to the craft. When we try to focus on an objec...t in the distance we squint our eyes. This is counter intuitive and doesnt help us see the object any clearer! - it just muddles up the image! Thats the funny thing about focus. Its not about how hard you can concentrate on a task, rather its about how clear headed you can approach it. When we want to see an object clearer the best way is to relax our eyes and take in the whole scenery. As nothing in this world is isolated, everything is connected. When we are clear on our beliefs and values. Decision are not only clearer but more profound and lasting.

14.01.2022 After and Before of our project for @love_2_build. We were able to achieve a very unique finish on this panelling, one that can only be replicated by blasting. The texture of the wood panelling draws your hand to touch and the Porters Clearcote keeps the pine looking as light as possible. Very proud of our team and special thanks to @Enviroprep media blasting. This home is definetly one of a kind @ Sunshine Beach

13.01.2022 All dry now. I love how Marmorino shows off every movement of my trowel. Every stroke is encoded in the wall, this makes the wall not only rare but one of a kind. Every artist will have their own style and flow, their walls will show this and display their strokes as if telling a story. Energy encapsulated in lime. 13.01.2022 We now list our tools on Hire-X for hire if anyone needs a spray gun for a weekend project or maybe a Zip wall system to keep dust out while renovating your bathroom. We own alot of specialised tools and these dont get used everyday so we have decided to open up our storehouse and share! We also hire out with an operator if needed ;)

13.01.2022 Setting up to run a blasting trial on our current project. We are trying to take off all old oil based stain of these VJ walls. Bring them back to new, white, beautiful wood We were intending to use mechanical Sanders or grinders to take the surface back, however with the deep penetration of the stain we werent able to get the desired effect. So, one last trick up our sleeve! We brought our friends from @Enviroprep media blasting to site to see if blasting will be an option on this job. Its our last resort, fingers crossed

11.01.2022 On our current project we are using a water base two pack paint to paint the frames and doors. It has an amazing shine and feel , it will stay pure white for ever, it is extremely hard and durable - maybe more so then oil enamel!! And it doesnt off gas into the home poisoning the air! (After the initial curing period) Amazing huh, so what are the downsides? Well application is expensive, the product is pricey, and the time taken to mix and prepare is extensive. On ...top its unhealthy for us so we have to take alot of care working around it. More so, the finish off the brush isnt the greatest, so we are using our HVLP system to spray it. Its a slow way of spraying. End result? About twice the cost of ordinary trim. However! It will last twice as long for sure. Oil yellows quickly and after only a few years needs repainting and acrylic is good but after some years starts to look worn. This product here is kitchen grade. 2k kitchens hold well for 20 years.... so surely trim will too! #dulux #duluxt74 @ Sunshine Coast, Queensland

10.01.2022 Were painting the interior of this unit in January. Just came by to pick up some furniture to chalk paint and to have a look at progress. Jayme the plasterer has done a smashing job getting this repaint prepped for us, all the tape was peeling off the corners and visible ceiling setting and he topped it off with an amazing feature! "If your foundations arent right, then it doesnt matter what you build on top" - John. This quote from one of our long term friends rings tr...ue at times like this, During the wall through I noticed trade damage on frames which unveiled a problem underneath. This unit was professionally painted... so was the last home we painted and had experienced the same issue! So here I share my thoughts on primers and how to tackle frames so they last! Its a very expensive process to take off a layer of paint that hasnt stuck properly, and then even out the surface. We use and recommend Dulux Precision Max Adhesion primer for hard to stick areas.

All aspects need to be considered, the amount of sun horizontal or vertical, proximity to pool proximity to ocean mould growth, even bird and bat poo! There is no stain/coating for all decks and therefore its important to make the right choice from the beginning. Maybe you need non slip around your pool? There are many things to consider. What is it? Real Roman Marble, Lime and Resins. A very hard, waterproof finish. Suitable for almost any surface in a home. Inside shower walls + floor! Kitchen Benchtop, tables, desks, the floor, stairs, landings, walls and ceilings. ... Like all of these finishes it is highly customizable with colour and additives. Yes we can put glitter in it! Price? Starting at $280m2. Thats less than 2/3 the price of Ceasar Stone, more customizable and comes with a manufacturers warranty. Yep it can go straight over old tiles. Really excited about playing more with this finish. Comparable product is Wall2Floor by Novacolor.

07.01.2022 This week we gave this store a refresher @hastingsstreetnoosa We sanded the doors back to raw wood with our @mirkaaustralia dustless sanding system, masked up and sprayed all the woodwork using @haymespaint Dexpress via HVLP to minimise overspray. Came out great!

05.01.2022 Great little repaint we had the honor of completing the other week. This home was going up for sale. All rotten fascia boards were treated with a 2 pack epoxy and filled using a 2 pack filler prior to painting. House properly washed as normal and touch up tin box left on site as per our standard, full finishes schedule inside We love our exterior repaints. @ Bli Bli, Queensland

04.01.2022 New deck at The Cedar Home. Built by Michael and the team at Independant Building Group. The deck is made of yellow Balau and handrail from spotted gum. To stay with as natural a finish as we could we used Cutek CD-50 here in Gold Tone for added UV protection. Re coating this deck will be a breeze with Cutek and even though we will have to do it twice as often it will still be more cost effective then using a coating due to the complexity of the deck. Win - Win. ... There’s no one size fits all when it comes to paints, choosing the right product can be the difference between a pleasant maintenance cycle or a nightmare. This deck will never have to be sanded back #deckdesign #deck

04.01.2022 Beautiful cane chairs delivered to the most amazing and patient customer! These chairs went from a cracking and peeling old oil based enamel to a clean crisp Italian white. We coated these originally with DULUX two pack but we weren’t happy with the result so they got Re done with our specialty imported Italian coating - Sayerlack. We had to repair and rebind a few areas too, very happy with the result.

02.01.2022 Id give this product a solid 8/10. Perfect for tables and kitchen benches. Pretty good for floors, and great for the environment. A little bit pricey but goes a long way. Not too hard to work with but has its own quirks.

02.01.2022 Applying first coat of Porters Clearcote to internal timber. Clearcote is a water based clear, beautiful product It has a very low VOC rating of 28.5g/l and doesnt yellow. It was selected for this project to keep the timber as light as possible without adding white tint to the topcoat. Its also a breathable coating so the internal air quality is looked after Applicarion via airless spray gun is super quick! But its all about the prep and thats where the time goes

Dom has been dealt a tough challenge in the shape of a bully attack, and has found strength in the Harry Potter universe We were tasked with turning his old dresser and side table into something spe...cial straight out of the wonderland of HP. What we managed to achieve is absolutely amazing! Its been a community wide effort, from the donations of old suitcases, to the paint donated by PaintRight Sunshine Coast to the amazing efforts by Emma from Smart Artists with her laser printer and design talent, and the finishing touches by Chris from Munt Designs, and the whole Crafted Finishes Team! 01.01.2022 Follow up on our project at Sunshine Beach. Sand-O showing us how sanding is done. After a thorough sand blast to remove all the discoloration we are back to beautiful pure white wood. A sand is needed to remove all ingrained sand and increase the sharpness of the wood as well as bring back some colour. Due to the sand blasting on this interior panelling the texture left on the surface is one of a kind. It really brought out the wood grain and this cannot be replicated any other way. Absolutely beautiful, more to come even headcam footage of the blasting itself!
