23.01.2022 Community Shade Grants Program Open Applications close on 11:59 pm, 11 September 2020. To read more about the grant and apply : https://www2.health.vic.gov.au/...community-shade-grants Shade development and sun protection items are always needed by community clubs, but given the impacts of COVID-19 they will be even more valuable with clubs looking to utilise outside space as much as possible (instead of their club rooms). Eligible community organisations are able to apply for grants of up to $50,000 for shade development and can include up to $700 for sun protection items (including GST). Applicants may also request up to $700 for sun protection items only.

22.01.2022 The Cricket Victoria Return to Play guidelines were released yesterday and after taking some time to read through them and try and understand them ... here is Cricket Shepparton update on where we are and what we will endeavor to help you through in the coming weeks. First and foremost, all clubs need to complete the Community Cricket Return to Train & Play COVID Plan and lodge it with both your local Council and Cricket Shepparton. You will need Council approval to begin tra...ining and playing. It is recommended that clubs keep clubrooms closed during training and on game days except for toilet areas and canteens. Cricket Shepparton support this recommendation as it will save clubs time and money by not requiring a full COVID clean between Junior and Senior games. Please note that the Return to Train & Play guidelines recommend the following - Spectators Juniors (Under-age competitions: 18 & Under): YES For those supervising children or supporting players with additional needs, while maintaining gathering limits of no more than ten people Seniors: NO Only players, coaches, umpires, scorers, COVID Officer and anyone operating the canteen Cricket Shepparton also recommend clubs use the QR Code check in for training and game days. All the information is provided in the Return to Train & Play document. Once we return to training it will be permitted in groups of no more than 10, e.g. 3 groups of 10 could train at one time - 1 group of 10 in the nets, - 1 group of 10 on of the ground - group of 10 on the other of the ground. - Rotate the groups across the session but not mix between groups. - The ‘net’ group could then be split in - e.g. 5 in net 1 and 5 in net 3 or 4. - cricket balls cannot be used by different groups and must be sanitized before and after training. Our intention is to play Round 1 of A & B Grades on Saturday 17th October as well as a grading round of Under 14's & Under 16's. We have chosen to then give everyone the following 2 long weekends off (AFL Grand Final weekend and Melb Cup weekend). Clubs can choose to play scratch matches or practice matches if they wish. We will return with all Grades playing on Saturday 7th November. All Senior cricket this season will be One Day Games with the start time listed as 1pm. Due to Kookaburra being unable to work for the last 2 months, they cannot guarantee they have enough white cricket ball for all associations to use in all One Day games. Due to this Cricket Shepparton will play One Day games using red cricket balls prior to Christmas and switch to White cricket balls after Christmas. Junior cricket will be as listed in your draw, either T20 or 25 over games. If you have any questions please direct them to Cricket Shepparton's COVID Officer, Brandan Reilly on [email protected] https://www.cricketvictoria.com.au/cricket-victoria-releas/

17.01.2022 JUNIOR FINALS! Can everyone get along and support our up and coming stars this weekend starting Friday night. FRIDAY NIGHT 4:30 ... 12A TATURA V NAGAMBIE @ Howley oval Tatura These have been the 2 dominant sides in 12A and deserve to be in the grandfinal. They had one close win each in their 2 encounter during the year. Tatura winning in round 1 & Nagambie taking the points in round 8. SUNDAY 9:00 16A MOOROOPNA V NUMURKAH @ Mooroopna Main Mooroopna showed their depth last week recovering from 6-68 to overhaul a very competitive 156 by Euroa. Woods and Meek putting on 100 run 7th wicket stand. These two both failed last time they played Numurkah so will be hoping to take that form into Sunday. Numurkah had an easy win over NotreDame St Brendan's last week with a powerful bowling display dismissing the Tigers for 60 and passing the score in 18 overs 2 down. Last time these 2 meet Mooroopna won a close one by 10 runs 16B NAGAMBIE v KARRAMONUS @ Vibert 1 Nagambie won a close game last week against Old Students thanks to a solid innings by Auld of 50 chasing down a competitive 113 thanks to a great 52 by Chandler. Karramonus were the Giant killers coming from 4th to knock off the previously undefeated Katandra, this was thanks to a punishing 57 from Cox which helped them post a season high score of 138. This proved too much for Katandra even with a 55 from Simpson. These two only played once this year with Nagambie winning easy in a one day game, but maybe the bloods have come good at the right end of season. 14A OLD STUDENTS V NOTREDAME ST BRENDANS @ John Gray oval Mooroopna Both these teams had easy wins last week, with Old Students posting 3-218 & dismissing Numurkah for 77. NotreDame St Brendan's chased down 113 2 down in 18 overs. Last time these 2 met NotreDame did well to restrict the Students to 109 from 43 overs but then failed dismally bat be bowled out for 39. Maybe they will be able to take a lead from Karra 16s last week and be the giant killers and defeat the Students side who haven't lost a game in 2 seasons having won 14B comp last year undefeated. 14B NORTHERNERS V NAGAMBIE @ Vibert 2 Northerners and Nagambie both had comfortable wins last week over Galant Old Students & Waaia teams respectively. Sheilds, premiership medals and Season awards will be handed out heret 3 of these taking 7 of the 8 wickets to fall to bowlers for a combined 21 runs off 14.1 overs. Nagambie went through with a good all round effort. Last time these two played was way back in round 2 when Northerners had a comfortable win, but its finals now and anything can happen Northerners is a very young side with 4 under 12s making up numbers but 3 of these taking 7 of the 8 wickets to fall to bowlers for a combined 21 runs off 14.1 overs. PRESENTATION DAY This will be held straight after the last grand final finishes but not before 2:00PM. Shields , premiership medals and Season awards will be handed out here

04.01.2022 Round 2 Wrap Up! A & B

03.01.2022 While we don't have a Return to Cricket date just yet, what we can be sure about is that sharing cricket equipment (helmets, bats, gloves) will not be allowed. It won't be too much of an issue at Senior cricket level but at Junior level, in particular Under 10's and 12's, a lot of junior cricketers don't have their own gear. Time to clean out the garage or bottom of the wardrobe and donate any "used but still usable" cricket gear to your local cricket club where it can be cleaned, sanitized and put to good use by our future superstars!

03.01.2022 Cricket Shepparton will be holding our AGM on Monday 24th Aug. It will be held online so not ideal but we need to get the ball rolling to start planning our 20/21 season. At this stage it appears we will be playing under some restrictions so the season may not look exactly like it did previously. If you have any suggestions please speak to your club so that they can discuss them at the AGM....
