22.01.2022 To be a successful client you must take responsibility for your own journey. A coach and client relationship is truly a partnership. There will be lots of problem solving interactions that include being vulnerable on both sides. Getting a coach is not only a financial investment, but an investment of your time by committing to the process of growth. Where clients can go wrong is thinking that they are investing in a solution and a problem solver by hiring a coach. A... coach is there to help guide based off of the clients communication of stated problem. Ultimately the client has to do the work in order to be successful. The most successful clients follow these 4 principles of responsibility: 1. Take ownership of their goals. - It is the clients' job to discover what goals they have and communicate them to the coach. It is not the coaches responsibility to set goals for clients. 2. Protect their schedule. - Clients who want success have to make sure their schedule aligns with the time investment needed. They also have to clearly communicate the time they are willing to dedicate to their fitness. The coach does not have a magic number for the number of training days and sessions, as it is up to the client and their willingness to commit. 3. Provide feedback.- The coach must know more than time and weight results. The coach must have biofeedback on all areas of life in order to understand the full picture. Without proper feedback the coach is just guessing. 4. Learning to listen to your body. - Learning how your body adapts and recovers is part of the process. Learning how stressors, nutrition, sleep, and training impact your body are all factors a client must understand. A coach will prescribe training, but a client is ultimately responsible for being aware of how their body is responding. If the client takes ownership of their journey, they will feel more fulfilled through the process and and in getting results, because THEY did the work! Olivia Deans taking ownership of her journey
