07.01.2022 Hi All, Bit of long one but we have a couple of updates for you all. Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe through this difficult time. Thought we’d provide you with a couple of updates with essentially as much knowledge as we know. Firstly, unfortunately, we are still without a confirmed start date for the season and are awaiting news from the government, Cricket Victoria and the RDCA in terms of how playing/ training may look once we are allowed. Fingers are crossed... for a start towards the end of October or the start of November but this is if everything from here goes to plan. We will be sure to provide updates once we have any ourselves. In terms of COVID-19, the Club is happy to announce that our Vice-President, Mark Sanderson will take on the role of COVID Officer at the club. For those that were unaware Sando is a COVID Investigation Officer with the DHHS. If you have any questions about operations once we know what the restrictions are, Sando is your man. As many of you have seen, the club room renovations are well on the way and we’re hoping to see even more developments once the builders can get back into the full swing of things. We love seeing the photos from everyone in the community and encourage you all to send them in. Lastly, we’d like to remind everyone that our Member survey is still open. The amount of responses we’ve had has been incredible but we’d love to have everyone take the time out to give their opinion. Many of the comments made in the survey were brought up in the last committee meeting. https://forms.gle/Sj7XW6JHftUcEnPW6 As you all know, our pre-season training has been affected and therefore can’t get an idea of how many players we’ll have for the season. We’d like to also use this survey to declare interest in playing in the following season. If there are any questions about anything, please feel free to reach out to me or anyone on the committee. Thank you, Michael Hendley Senior President 0416 444 932

06.01.2022 Today is R U OKay Day. It’s important to speak up or speak out. It’s even more important to look out for those around you, maybe even more so in these trying and unknown times. R U OKay is a simple question, but it shouldn’t end there. To follow on from this we as a club have decided to set up a weekly Zoom Call, It’ll be known as Croydon Ranges Arvo Tea, the call will start at 3:30pm from this Saturday and will last about half an hour. Anyone involved in the club is more than welcome to join, even if you want to swing past for 5 minutes even just to say Hello. We Look Forward to seeing as many faces there as possible. Remember you are not alone, let your family and friends know this. #RUOKay

06.01.2022 Keen bunch of girls before their first game.

06.01.2022 All RDCA Club Presidents & Secretaries Please complete the survey by Sunday 20th Sept 6pm See flyer for more information. This is also available via the website.... https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSdnzL3tp6Ma8zHQap/viewform Welcome to the 2020/21 season, particularly to all the YVCA clubs joining us. Your Senior Committee has been active over the last month on the season preparation with the integration of the YVCA Senior Clubs and Umpires. We will be including 4 or 5 clubs into the RDCA Premier grades (not Trollope or Wilkins) with a separate Yarra Valley Zone covering 2 or 3 grades playing within the Yarra Valley. These matters, and many others, are being discussed by the RDCA / YVCA Integration Committee. A final decision on gradings cannot be made until all clubs have submitted their team entries with possible grounds due on 30th September. On the latter I would strongly encourage you to keep in touch with your local council’s relevant officers as they have now started their ground allocations and we know that some grounds will not be available for part or all of the cricket season. As the year progresses it has become clear that we are not going to have a ‘normal’ cricket season. That is 14 rounds consisting of 7 two-day games and 7 one-day games played on Saturdays. The RDCA Senior Committee is currently looking at a variety of options as to what the coming season may look like, but ultimately we can only do so much until we get clear return to play dates as dictated by the State Government. We are conducting a short survey to gather feedback from all our stakeholders Clubs, Players and Officials. We are asking that you please share this survey with your members and encourage them to complete it. We also ask that each club discuss the options as a committee and provide an official club response. All responses will be treated confidentially, and we will not be sharing how individuals or clubs responded. The more feedback and ideas we get the better. The information we receive here will help us make quicker and better decisions once we do know how many weeks are available. This means we can communicate the format and draws to the clubs as soon as possible. With our normal 24 Saturday season already impossible, we would like everyone to keep an open mind and consider all the possibilities to achieve the fairest and best season possible for everybody. Some key considerations before answering should include: 1. weighing up maximising games vs a fair draw as we may not be able to achieve both, and 2. longer innings and spells (2-day cricket) vs more innings and spells (1-day cricket). Please access the survey at this link RDCA SENIOR COVID RESPONSE SEASON 20/21 with the deadline for completion Sunday 18th September 2020 at 6:00 pm. If you experience any problems with the link please contact Matt Thomas at the below email and he will send you a Word copy. As always if you have any questions please contact Matt Thomas at [email protected] or on 0407 874 894. Many thanks. Regards Pat Meehan RDCA Senior Chairperson

02.01.2022 Becoming a caregiver can happen at anytime - to anyone, even First Ladies. Eleanor Roosevelt became the carer of her husband, Franklin D. Roosevelt, overnight, ...when he was paralysed from the waist down due to illness. With Eleanor's support, Franklin went on to become the 32nd President of the United States. Friends once said of Eleanor, "She would rather light a candle than curse the darkness." If you, or someone you know, care for a family member, there is support available. Visit https://simplyhelping.com.au/ to see how we can help.

01.01.2022 Have you been missing the sights of main streets of Croydon? We have missed the people.... Hopefully not too much longer now.. We appreciate all of the support that has been shown... enjoy the rest of the Sunshine for the weekend.. Thank you.

01.01.2022 Just a reminder that our first virtual catch up is happening today at 3:30!
