08.01.2022 Visakha Bucha: is one of the most important Buddhist festivals in Cambodia. It celebrates the birth, enlightenment and passing away of the Buddha. According to Theravada Buddhist teachings observed in Cambodia and other part of South East Asia, these three events (Birth, Enlightenment and Death) all took place on the same day of the year, the full moon day of the Indian sixth lunar month of Wisaka. Thus, the Buddhas enlightenment took place on his thirty-fifth birthday and he passed away on his eightieth birthday. Come help us celebrate!
