21.01.2022 Who has been struggling with what you're eating since being in isolation? I have hears some people close to be say all I do is sit and eat! I LOVE vegetables but even I can struggle to get enough into my diet some days. ... Did you know that only half of Australians eat the recommended serving of fruit per day. Only 1 in 13 (7.5%) eat the recommended amount of vegetables. It is advised that people eat 2 servings of fruit and 5 servings of vegetables per day. This should be a minimum. How many servings to you eat? Eating a well balanced diet including fruit and vegetables can help to reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. TIPS to increase your intake 1- Start the day with a juice green juice- cucumber, broccoli, banana, pineapple, spinach, ginger, lemon Red juice- beetroot, lemon, ginger, green apple 2- Put fruit on your cerial or advocado on your toast 3- Pre prepare lunch with servings of vegetables 4- Make sure every evening meal has at least 4 servings of vegetables. I'll go for a walk when I've cleaned the house I'll start eating healthier when things settle down at work I'll get to bed earlier tomorrow... 11.01.2022 I had decided that I would go for a run this morning. My iso life had meant little exercise and I'm carrying a little bit more weight than usual. It was a great intention.. But it was raining. I thought, I'll just go tomorrow after work. Knowing that I would be tired and the last thing I would feel like doing is going for a run. I reminded myself that the excuses I make are what's going to keep me where I am, not get me where I want to be. ... So, I put on my leggings and did a workout inside. 10 x star jumps 10 x squat jumps 10 x push ups 10 x sit ups 4 reps It felt good to get my heart pumping to start the day. Making sure I drink the #xsmusclerecovery means that I can't use 'my muscles hurt' as an excuse tomorrow.

Today we went to the Dandenong Ranges and enjoyed exploring through the bush on some beautiful walks before a late picnic lunch. This is exactly what I needed to recharge my battery and to slow down my busy mind. What has everyone been doing this weekend to slow down?

01.01.2022 Who else loves making vegetable soup? Is the best winter lunch and perfect to warm you up on winter days. I put all sorts of vegetables in my soups and no two are ever the same. I try to use a rainbow of colours to create the most nutritious meal.... Today I used onion, sweet potato, carrot, zucchini, broccoli corn and celery. Other times I use parsnip, cauliflower, potato or peas. I try to use fresh herbs. Today there is Basil, thyme, parsley and Coriander. You of course don't need to use all these and dried spice mix will work fine. I always have garlic in my soups and it's an added immune booster for this time of year.
