24.01.2022 The Dante Alighieri Society is a worldwide cultural organisation whose main objective is to promote the Italian language and culture. Its headquarters are located in Rome. The Society has well-established cultural committees in many countries including Australia with the South Australian Branch based in Adelaide. The South Australian Committee President role/position will become vacant in 2021 and we are seeking an expression of interest from potential passionate candidates ...who may have an interest in providing leadership to a well-known Italian Cultural organisation and Committee for a two year term. General requirements of the role: *Committed to help promote the Italian language and culture. *Fluent in communicating both in Italian and English (in speaking and written forms). *Desirable, but not essential, experience as a Committee/Board Member. *Desirable, but not essential, knowledge of the Italian and/or Australian general teaching system and language courses. *Essential ability to work in a team of passionate members. *Writing reports and liaising with Italian Consular Services in Adelaide, Dante Alighieri Society Headquarters in Rome and other Italian Departmental Institutions in Italy. *Willing to dedicate the required amount of time to carry out all responsibilities. This role is a volunteer position. This year, the PLIDA exams for all levels, will take place during the third week of November, at our office located at 262 Carrington St. The cost for each level is as follows : A1 > $230.00... A2 > $250.00 B1 > $280.00 B2 > $300.00 C1 - C2 > $320.00 To ensure your place, please complete your enrolment and payment is to be received by no later than Saturday 24 October 2020. Updated advice from the Australian Government: On 5 March 2020, the Australian Government extended existing travel restrictions to include the Republic of Korea. The Australian Government considers Mainland China, Iran, Italy and the Republic of Korea to be at higher risk for COVID-19. If you are returning from mainland China or Iran you should isolate yourself for 14 days after leaving mainland China or Iran. If you are travelling from the Republic of Korea, on or after 5 March, you must isolate yourself for 14 days from the time you left the Republic of Korea. If you are arriving from Italy, you must present for health screening at the border as directed. Unless you are instructed to, you do not need to isolate yourself but you cannot attend work for 14 days if you work as a healthcare worker or as a residential aged care worker.
