17.01.2022 This is what happens if you let your boat lay idle for too long in the water. Interestingly, one set of propellers had prop-speed applied while the other had no protective coatings at all. The stuff is not cheap, but this is proof of its effectiveness. It is good idea to take your boat for a quick run at least every 3-4 weeks to prevent such fouling build-up.

15.01.2022 In my eyes, you are doing pretty well if your boat can store a jetski or a 9ft tender boat. This 68ft custom designed Princess is the tender to the 116 metre Ulysses Super Yacht. A 68ft boat would be considered a big boat in Melbourne, the scale is hard to fathem.

14.01.2022 Can anyone else relate?

12.01.2022 Quick Tip: Check your propellers for fishing line, if found - remember to remove the propeller to check that its hasnt bound around the shaft. A damaged shaft seal leak can cost you many thousands of dollars if left undetected causing internal corrosion to the gearbox assembly.

09.01.2022 Next time you catch a rope or fishing line, just remember - there is always someone else who has done worse.

09.01.2022 Must not have seen that tiny sailboat, they can be hard to spot with those sails and all.

09.01.2022 A clean and well-maintained engine bay is essential if you want to prevent any nasty surprises. This 65ft Motor Yacht inspected recently is a credit to the owner, running twin C18 CAT engines with not a drop of oil, belt dust or corrosion insight. I am sure any marine mechanic would love to work in a space like this.

08.01.2022 Quick Tip: When was the last time you checked your seacocks valves? Do you know how many you have? Can they be quickly accessible in an emergency? Easily forgotten but a crucial part of your boats plumbing and cooling systems. Some things to check for are corrosion, signs of water leakage, salt build-up, excercise valve, hose clamp condition, hose condition and mounting.

03.01.2022 Update: Those of you who have booked or currently looking for a vessel survey. It appears we can commence some survey inspections from today onwards that meet certain criteria. Please note, we have a large back-log of work so we are currently scheduling those on our waiting list. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to have your survey scheduled prior to the summer. Visit our website to make a booking enquiry online
