24.01.2022 WHY DO VETS CONTINUE TO RECOMMEND THE POOREST RATED DRY FOOD? Know whats crazy? Vets dont stock good quality dry food. Does that not strike you as a bit stran...ge...for a health practitioner?! Youd think theyd stock the best. But check out how well the top vet brands do on ConsumerAffairs .com: HILLS PET FOOD SATISFACTION RATING 1.5/5 STARS Based on 149 ratings out of 174 reviews https://www.consumeraffairs.com/pets/hills.html ROYAL CANIN PET FOOD SATISFACTION RATING 2/5 STARS Based on 53 ratings out of 395 reviews PURINA PET FOOD SATISFACTION RATING 2/5 STARS Based on 81 ratings out of 1,253 reviews It happens these three brands sponsor our vet universities. They also happen to be the brands most recommended by vets. Thats just a coincidence though as, your vet will assure you, these are very good, very scientific foods. It doesnt seem to matter to them that the whole world doesnt agree, with these brands consistently receiving woeful reviews on the likes of ConsumerAffairs.com and DogFoodAdvisor.com (where each of the above average less than 2/5 stars, largely due to the poor quality of ingredients used therein, such as copious amounts of cereal filler, low protein and the use of meat meals). You could at this point add in any canine nutritionist you can find. Our vets either dont know or dont care. Its one or the other and Im not sure which is worse. To be clear I dont blame the individual vets though. They invariably mean well. Vets are animal lovers, extremely hard working and not paid enough for the amount of labour and grief they put in (the financial costs alone of running a practice are extortionate in Ireland and the UK). Focusing on the individual vets at the bottom is like blaming a child for believing in God. They didnt lick it off the ground. They had to be taught the stories. I blame the universities for taking the cash handouts. They are producing vets coming out thinking that little carnivores do better on this stuff despite never seeing a single study in support of the fact), that dogs with no parasites need chemical parasite control, that already vaccinated dogs need annual boosters despite an overwhelming amount of evidence to the contrary. Its doing enormous damage to their reputation as critical thinking scientists. They today appear more like pharmacists. Great when your dog is sick but stopping him getting sick is no longer their field. At any rate, some of the top brands available for your pet would be the meat-based types, though which one is really anyones guess. Orijen (or Acana, both made by Champion Pet Foods in Canada) are well known, though you can save a bit buying Wilderness in Maxizoo (made in Germany), same idea but a touch cheaper. Seems like pretty good stuff by all accounts. Also Eden Pet Food (online only, made in the UK). However, as these highly profitable, multi-million companies dont have anything like the financial clout of the ultra profitable multi-billion behemoths such as Mars, Nestl or Colgate, they cant put the right amount of money in the right places so your vet wont be recommending them to you. Isnt that a sad state of (consumer) affairs? FEED YOUR DOGS FRESH FOOD, ITS NO MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE REDUNDANT FOOD STUFFS SOLD IN VETS AND CHEAPER THEN MEAT BASED DRY FOODS. https://www.dogsfirst.ie/raw/everything-about-raw-dog-food/ FOR MORE ON THE INFILTRATION OF VET SECTOR BY PET FOOD COMPANIES... https://www.dogsfirst.ie/why-vets-recommend-that-dry-food/

23.01.2022 Digestive biscuits are the most boring biscuits in the world but I accept some people like them. Dogs certainly do. With the obesity crisis raging in pets, I ne...ed to highlight that when you give a 10kg dog a biscuit its the equivalent of giving an 80kg human 6-8 biscuits. That is going to pile on the pounds, particularly in an animal already struggling to maintain body form on an ultra-processed diet of more than 50% bread. Can you imagine going to the gym on that sort of diet?! Get your dogs lean guys. Its crucial to their health. It massively reduces inflammation in the body so old dogs will get a new lease of life as their joints begin to move again and now those joints will last longer. They will be more agile, encouraging more exercise. They will be less prone to diabetes and cancer. They will live longer. All this can be achieved quickly and easily by feeding them appropriately. The answer is NOT feeding them less pizza, or feeding them magic low-calorie pizza at grossly inflated prices under the entirely false marketing claim of "prescription" (it has no medicinal properties whatsoever, in this case its the same dry food with an extra 10% indigestible plant fibre!), its cutting the pizza out entirely. This way they can still have nice big tasty meals only they are leaner, higher in protein and fresh fat. Weight will fall off slowly and will be replaced by lean muscle mass. Its cheaper and tastier. Whats not to like. More here https://dogsfirst.ie/health-i/feed-fat-dogs-fresh-not-less/ [Digestive biscuits, like all cereal-based pet food products made by candy companies, are a desperately poor food choice for your pet. You are wasting your money and their health. Treats are among the worst offenders. Dogs want meaty treats. 21.01.2022 Please see the video clip of Milo the 12 month old Maine Coon cat presented for a booster vaccination. Inside his fur coat Milo was suffering. His tatty moth-eaten coat was accepted as normal by his owners. Its the cruel fate facing most pet cats and dogs fed industrial, highly processed packaged junk.

18.01.2022 DERMagic success Hello everyone, today I want to share with yall my skin/fur struggle Ive been going thru for the last 1,5 year. The first picture was taken last year in March, you can clearly see that my fur was changing and my behind had very short fur . The second picture was in August last year, you can see that my legs had little to none fur . (here is when we started my treatment). In the third picture you can clearly see that my legs and my back had almost no fu...r (also my belly was completely bald and my skin turned black). Then in my fourth picture you can see my fur growing back after 9 months of treatment (yassss!) And the last picture is from yesterday! My fur has come (95%) back! 17.01.2022 Kibble (dry food) contains rendered meat. What is rendered meat? Euthanised animals unfit for human consumption. #diseased #dying #dead #disabled Look for chicken meal, beef meal or protein meal. Rendered fats. Animal fat. Animal digest. ... Remember that any ingredient called by-product, meal, tallow, animal fat, or grease is almost certainly a rendered product.

14.01.2022 This is Puppet. For 12 months he had tried many things with veterinarians and so far nothing had worked. He used DERMagic products and changed his meals to homemade ones. All that DERMagic has recommended and said has helped my Pomeranian improve and Puppet continues to improve every day. His hair has grown strong and his new hair is softer than it has ever been. Im really happy and I would like to thank the DERMagic team. Puppet and I thank you. Puppet e io ti ringraziamo. @puppet.pomeranian See more

13.01.2022 Looking at the photo on the right, its hard to believe that such a fluffy beauty could have been so bald 8 months ago! And many people wont believe it, but it is true! This is baby Howard in December 2018 and August 2019. Continue to see the intermediate photos. The treatment used DERMagic Shampoo and Skin Rescue Lotion. In addition to external changes, there were also changes in behaviour Howard has become active, cheerful and playful again. Now there is a new problem combing such thick hair!

12.01.2022 IS BRAVECTO SAFE FOR DOGS? Sorry to bang this drum guys but Im still getting asked this question a lot (and not just about Bravecto, the name changes the issue...s stay the same). Most of you know my feelings on chemical flea control as a whole but for those of you who may have missed it, here are the known harm figures for Bravecto, according to independent assessment and they are a LOT higher than what you might hear from a company rep. I also pasted a few other bits into the piece from previous articles to make it more comprehensive as a whole. The piece covers: The known kill figures for Bravecto according to independent assessment Converting this to human terms for some perspective Consumer affairs programs now questioning their safety Dont think its just Bravecto. A rose by any other name is just as prickly... Chemical flea treatments for pets are poisoning our waterways Are chemical flea treatments safe for humans? Are the ones sold by vets any safer than the cheapy looking ones in supermarkets? Fleas on dogs? Best advice to monitor, prevent and treat for fleas, should you find them. https://dogsfirst.ie/is-bravecto-safe-here-we-lay-out-the-/ #fleasondogs #isbravectosafe

08.01.2022 CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF VET-RECOMMENDED PUPPPY KIBBLES AND THE CHEAPER STUFF SOLD IN THE SUPERMARKET REVEALS NO DIFFERENCE NUTRITIONALLY, AT ALL... Ive had this s...tudy for a long time. Makes up a paragraph in the book where I show evidence that dry pet food manufacturers are not only allowing for the MINIMUM amount of protein your pup needs for six months (22%), but that chemical analysis of these foods reveals that dogs are unable to fully digest the crap protein they are fed (meal is harder to digest, and then they use indigestible plant protein ingredients such as corn or beet pulp, which is the leftovers from processing, essentially the husks from those industries which, while nutritionally useless to both humans and pet alike, they do add to the protein content on the label, which is great as real protein like meat is expensive). This means that pups are surely consuming less-than-the-required amount of protein each day. And for these crackers, essentially Weetabix with cows toenail in it, you are paying 6/kg? Twice the price of fresh chicken off the shelf of a supermarket? For a carnivore?!! I love the way the study names the products they tested. They dont always do that as the threat of reprisal is very real. Then it struck me what the study was actually saying. The authors compared 12 cereal-based pet foods in Norway, dividing them into two types - 6 were higher-priced (HP, largely sold in vets) and 6 were lower-priced (LP, largely sold in supermarkets). Among the higher-priced brands tested were: - Eukanuba (large breed puppy) - Proplan (puppy) - Royal Canin (large breed puppy) - Hills (large breed puppy) They found the two groups were about as different as hair and fur, even their chemistry sets couldnt tell them apart. Chemical analysis found no difference between the price categories concerning the dietary level of nutrients. Nor did they find any difference in the digestibility of those nutrients between the types. Furthermore, the protein and amino acid content and digestibility were similar between the two types. And that digestibility was pretty crap, 68 77%. https://academic.oup.com/jn/article/134/8/2141S/4688899 There is never a more important time for good food than when you are growing the vessel that is to carry you around for the rest of your life. Heres how to feed a pup real food. Find everything you need at the supermarket. Its not rocket science. Its easier, cheaper and infinitely more nutritious. https://dogsfirst.ie/raw-faq/best-food-for-puppies/

04.01.2022 Glaxo chief admits only 1 in 4 of their cancer drugs actually work in patients... https://www.independent.co.uk//glaxo-chief-our-drugs-do-no But I'm irrespons...ible and risk being banned from Facebook if I highlight the numerous peer-reviewed studies that conclude various seaweeds have been found to be "antimutagenic", "antitumour", "anticancer", "antiproliferative", "protective against breast cancer", etc etc. (see attached table). We took four of the most mentioned seaweeds on this table and put them in a product we call AC4 (https://dogsfirstshop.ie/) but we are absolutely not allowed to say this might help your dog with cancer. No way. Only drug companies that have a 25% hit rate in helping at this point can do that. What we can legally say (I cleared this with a barrister) is that SIDE EFFECTS OF THIS PRODUCT MAY INCLUDE tumour suppression, less cancer etc, but that'd just be childish. We know how rampant cancer is in humans but dogs are the most cancer-stricken animals on the planet. They are TEN TIMES more likely to suffer it than us. Quite the feat without cigarettes, flame-retardant mattresses and diet drinks. If your dog has cancer perhaps now it's time to remove all the absolutely useless carbs (sugar) from their diet, all the weird food chemicals, all the stale fats, all the anti-life chemicals decimating their gut flora. This means removing all the ultra-processed food products. You need to re-consider your use of annual boosters (in animals already adequately vaccinated as pups) and noxious pesticides (on pets with no parasites). Now more than ever you need to feed a fresh, species-appropriate diet, high in fat, moderate in protein and with ZERO CARBS. You must get them lean (obesity drives inflammation in the body) and you must clean up their teeth with raw meaty bones (gum disease hammers immune resources). That addressed, in my non-medical opinion, why wouldn't you consider a few simple, natural supplements in the background, with seaweed, astaxanthin and CBD topping the list. All of these have a plethora of solid RCT-level studies behind them, many that surpass the paltry 1 in 4 figure above!! But always discuss your usage of such supplements with your (natural) vet to ensure no drug clashes. If your vet still has your cancer dog on a high carbohydrate, ultra-processed diet they are most certainly doing it wrong. More on cancer in dogs here https://dogsfirst.ie/sugar-causes-cancer-in-dogs/

02.01.2022 Please see link below to lodge a complaint with ACCC. We must try, we cant be defeated. --------------------------------------------------- Dear Concerned Pet... Owner, -Has junk pet food injured the health of your pet? -- gum disease, obesity, diabetes, skin disease, other? -Has your vet pushed unnecessary tests and treatments when all that was required was a change of diet? -Does your vet condemn natural food but push Hills and Royal Canin junk? -Are you appalled at vet schools and vet nurse training institutes that brainwash their students with false information? -Should the RSPCA and other so-called welfare groups promote harmful junk pet food? Systematic cruelty to animals is a criminal offence. False advertising and defrauding consumers is a serious offence. A solution may be at hand.
