20.01.2022 We had an amazing display of the true DICKY SPIRIT yesterday at the Murphy Home Builders Carnival in Maroochydore this weekend! The @dbdandies were off to a ...great start, through the break crashing over waves, until they hit a massive set causing the sweep oar to snap clean in half (used to steer the row boat)!!! Floody and the Dandelions did not hesitate and continued to smash through waves and determined to finish the race! Coming into shore the CREW knew how dangerous it was to catch the waves without a sweep so what did the LEGEND ROB FLOOD do? He dove into the water, gripping on to the back of the boat and acted as a sweep himself to steer his crew back to safety! Now that’s a true blue Aussie legend right there! What a great show of the Dicky Spirit! Very proud to be part of the club which supports such legends such as Rob & the DB surf boat crews! #locallegends #dickybeachsurfclub #dickybeachsc #teamdicky

15.01.2022 Our friends at Reelax Cafe & Takeaway suffered considerable damage to their store after a severe storm ripped through the area a couple of weekends ago. As a result they had to close for a few days and lost thousands of dollars in takings as well as food that unfortunately defrosted while the power was out. Despite that, upon reopening, they continued to provide hot chips free of charge to our grateful patrolling members over the Australia Day long weekend! If you're in the area, please call in to say thanks and perhaps order a meal, some takeaway or even just a coffee We greatly appreciate all the support they provide to our Club!

10.01.2022 #Throwback to SOS Week and these fabulous young people as well as all our nippers and patrolling members who dedicated time during their weekend to collecting much needed funds for Dicky Beach Slsc! Special thank you to Neisha for coordinating youth efforts which helped raise over $7,500 for volunteer lifesaving services at our beach! Surf Life Saving Queensland

08.01.2022 We have just launched the Sunshine Coast’s first major FREE and independent daily news website, which will inform, connect and celebrate our great region like never before. The website, sunshinecoastnews.com.au, will feature local, state, national and world news, sport, lifestyle and opinion, all produced daily by experienced journalists immersed in our community. The initiative is brought to you by the 100% local publishers of My Weekly Preview, Salt magazine and Your Time.... Surf lifesaving is going to be featured prominently and we want to hear about your successes, members who are going above and beyond, key milestones, community safety messages and nipper and senior club surf sport happenings. We are also looking for contributed pictures to use in our Photo of the Day section, which could include morning training, patrols, carnivals or beach scenes. As mentioned, the site is FREE, but we are asking people to register their name and email, which helps us quantify support for the site and shape the news we provide. Those who subscribe, by following the prompts on sunshinecoastnews.com.au, will receive a once-daily bulletin highlighting the news of the day. This is the good news story the Sunshine Coast has been waiting for and we want you to be part of it. Email contacts are: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Thank you Peter Hall Editor

05.01.2022 We sincerely appreciate every single person and business who has supported Dicky Beach Slsc during SOS Week this year. We have raised $7,339 so far! Like most community organisations, we have been significantly impacted by Covid-19 during 2020 which has made community fundraising even more important for us to be able to continue to deliver our services. The funds raised will be used for vital training, equipment and resources for our volunteer lifesavers. Thank you!! I...f you have been meaning to donate but haven't had a chance, our online fundraising page will remain open so please, be a lifesaver and donate today! https://sosweek.raisely.com/t/dicky-beach-slsc

05.01.2022 Some great shots of the old North Caloundra SLSC clubhouse courtesy of Sunshine Coast Libraries. The clubhouse was destroyed by fire in 1974 at which time the club was relocated to its current location at Coochin Street, Dicky Beach. Today the site features a commemorative plaque and memorial wall for the North Caloundra SLSC old boys.

03.01.2022 It’s the last day of SOS Week and we are close to our fundraising goal! Can you help us get the whole way? You never think you'll need a lifesaver...until you do. Although fit and healthy, Bryce’s heart stopped on a beach and his family is forever grateful that volunteer surf lifesavers were there that day to revive him. What if Bryce was your husband/father/brother? What if he was you? We can’t put a price tag on a life but it does cost us to save one. ... Be a lifesaver. Please donate today https://sosweek.raisely.com/t/dicky-beach-slsc

03.01.2022 Fun for everyone at the Arthur Street Country Markets tomorrow!
