19.01.2022 CLIENT SHOUTOUT! This one goes out to DRIVE client and my great mate @mattburton_01. In a year where opportunities have been mostly limited for professional triathletes, rather than rest, Matt has used the time to knuckle down, work hard as always and come out the other side a better athlete. Matt makes a living from pushing his body to its limits. Quite silly really. Congratulations on winning the @im703busso state long course champs in your own backyard. For those playi...ng at home here are seriously fast splits: 1.9km - 0:24 90km - 2:01 21.1km - 1:15 Total winning time: 3hr43min The hardest trainer in any room he walks into & works just as hard on recovery and looking after his body as he does training. Unlike most with their feet up post race...The day after winning, Matt rode home from Busselton to Optus Stadium today to raise money for Telethon. 232km 5hr 35min 41.5km/h Link in his bio for those wanting to donate to this great cause. We love your work Matty and look forward to many more race wins. Way to make the rest of us feel very lazy! #drivehealthperformance #triathlonwa #703busso

19.01.2022 CLIENT SHOUTOUT @eli.sewell Attacking his rehab 8weeks post second ACL reconstruction. He’s had some rotten injury luck on the field but this 16yo doesn’t let this dampen his spirits. A great perspective and a bloody hard worker. Starting to get some strength back, very early days in this long process. I’ll keep you posted on Eli’s rehab journey! ... I’m excited to get this young guy back doing what he loves.

15.01.2022 Just to show my clients Im not always just inflicting pain on them. Heres me voluntarily inflicting pain on myself . Also my quads really needed this. Ive run a few times the last month or so...which has been lets say...interesting. Neglected some strength work as Ive started this business. Time to get back on track...sometimes I need a kick up the backside too. Moral of the story is when adding in new activities, stay pro active in keeping muscle and tissue healt...hy... Before you get niggles that stop of you from doing what you want and halt your progress. Suns out so no doubt more people out there starting to get moving. Reach out if youve got niggles you need to finally sort out.

10.01.2022 WALL SITS for KNEE PAIN . These take me back to my basketball days...plenty of these in my time. . A great exercise for a lot of different reasons. Can be a really good way to get some load through the muscle, tissues, tendon that surround the knee joint. ... . Easily scalable to whatever load you can tolerate, simply come up higher on the wall to start, then lower as tolerable. . Can change base of support from wide to narrow or even single leg for extra burn . No equipment required, just find a wall. . Can be a great place to start if you’ve ever been told you have patella tendon issues, runners knee or patella femoral pain syndrome. . Give these a go before your next run or activity and you might just notice less knee pain . Plenty of options. As always the secrets lie in some consistency. Let me know if you’re dealing with knee pain. #softtissueot #softtissueotperth #northperthlife #northperthlocal #perthfitfam #perthfitlife #kneepain #kneepainrelief

09.01.2022 Adding function to fitness DRIVE client Mark putting in some solid work. Here we are working some upper body rotation on a stable base. ... Whilst he makes these look easy...that stance leg glute is absolutely burning. Respecting the body’s anterior oblique sling, exercises like these are a must for anyone looking to improve function... or running, or walking, so most of us! I’m excited to see what Mark can do adding some functional strength work to an already big fitness engine. 06.01.2022 Don’t sleep on the soleus in ACL Rehab. One of the most important muscles that absorbs loads much greater than our body weight every time we strike the ground. The quads aren’t our only focus with knee rehab. Little shaking here shows some fatigue particularly on the eccentric of the movement. Shaking = opportunity. ... Remember soleus work should be done with a bent knee. Often when soleus is fatigued, clients will start to try and straighten the knee at the top of the heel raise to start to recruit more gastroc...you can see this start to creep in this video.
