11.01.2022 DROUGHT. It rages on, and on, and on. This was taken as I drove through NSW/QLD border area in and around Texas - and it was so horrific I could hardly bear it.... It’s like scene from Mad Max. The dead kangaroos are lined up on the road; one after another after another. Carcasses piles up. The stench of death. The horses and cattle are painfully poor. They’ve had no green pick for a long time. No feed. So they stand at fence lines waiting for hay. God only knows how people are even accessing or affording fodder at this point?? Houses look barren and abandoned. They’re not. They just look like they should be. Businesses in town(s) everywhere are closed or closing. I think we can all agree the media in general is currently not doing even close to enough to tell the entire story. (I don’t mean the current muck-raking of water war stories for ratings... I mean proper, comprehensive, balanced stories.) Let’s be sure they do. That’s why I advocate so passionately. Because we are all struggling. Feel free to share + tag a media outlet, if you would like to help us stay current so the rest of the nation knows the bloody awful truth. Because quite honestly - if you eat food, or wear clothes, you’re involved - whether you like it or not. Consider that before you demonise rural people, production, or systems you’ve never worked on or lived among. 05.01.2022 We are slowly starting to get back to some sort of normal. Please be aware that the Qld Borders are still closed, so our only access is via Texas Qld then up Riverton Road. All other crossings are still closed off.
