21.01.2022 The amount of young teens put on hormonal contraception for ‘period problems’ seems to be growing, and we don’t really know what the long term health effects are

19.01.2022 Physiotherapy has an important role to play at all stages of pregnancy, labour and post birth, and as has been recently recognised in the UK, should be part of routine care for all pregnant and postnatal women here in Australia regardless of the number of babies they’ve had or mode of delivery, Cath Willis, chair of the APA Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health group. All women should also have access to a physiotherapist consultation after birth as part of routine care to screen for and help manage a wide range of conditions including urinary incontinence, faecal incontinence, pelvic girdle pain, abdominal muscle separation and symptoms of prolapse. Women’s post party’s health is extremely important, and we need to remove the barriers for women to be able to receive the care they need. Please sign this petition

17.01.2022 Myth Busting! I have had people ask me this over the years, and I'm here to clear up this misconception Protein provides the building blocks of life, used for providing structure and function to our bodies. We consume proteins from meat, dairy, eggs and legumes. We absolutely NEED to eat protein, and every person has different needs depending on their lifestyle and health... The theory behind this myth is that protein increases the acid load of your body, which then causes the body to take calcium out of the bones to neutralize the acid. But studies have found quite the opposite - For example, high protein diets may improve your bone density and lower the risk of fractures Some people say eating lots of protein increases the load on the kidneys, as they clear the waste from your body. But if you haven't been diagnosed with any kidney diseases, more protein can actually benefit long term kidney health, by lowering your risk of diabetes and reducing blood pressure Conclusion - don't be scared of protein, and if you still have concerns, see your healthcare practitioner #eatmoreprotein #youarenoteatingenough #eatwellforhealth #biloelanutritionist #nutritionist #mythbusting #healthybones #healthykidneys #buildingblocksoflife

17.01.2022 Self care doesn’t have to be hot baths with candles, exercising everyday, yoga, or going out with for a wine with friends It can also look like - sitting down with your husband, trying to convince him to spend the afternoon doing a puzzle with you #bestfriends #stressless #selfcare #nutritionist #eatwellforhealth #cutekittenpuzzles #lookafteryourself #stolehubbyshoodie

16.01.2022 I had the pleasure of working with the team @crossfitgrunt last night to deliver the webinar Back to Basics- the fundamentals of Nutrition Sometimes we can complicate the food we eat, punish ourselves in the gym and chug down protein shakes, all while we are ignoring our poor sleeping patterns, eating pre-packaged convenience foods and ignoring our thirst. Then we wonder why we aren’t seeing results ... I had so much fun covering the fundamental concepts with these guys, as it’s always a great reminder for myself and even the seasoned athlete to simplify our approach to health #eatwellforhealth #zoom #webinar #sundaynight #settinggoals #drinkmorewater #crossfitgrunt #crossfitbiloela #ilovetalkingaboutfood #nutritionist #health #strength

15.01.2022 Myth Busting! Fat doesn't make you fat - lets clear that up. Excess calories, hormones imbalances, stress, not enough sleep, not enough water...those things make you gain weight Fats are not all created equal, but that doesn't mean we don't need them for good health... Each one of our cell walls are made up of fats, 70% of our brain is made up of fat, our hormones are transported by fats. Fats are important I recommend using fats found from animals (butter, lard, cream, meat, eggs, fish) and from cold pressed vegetables (olive oil, coconut oil, avocado). Limit or avoid refined, highly processed vegetable oils We are designed to consume fat, so don't be scared of it! And as we age, we need more of it #biloelanutritionist #nutrition #eatwellforhealth #mythbusting #fatdoesntmakeyoufat #fatsaregood #hormonehealth #brainfood #sleepmore #drinkmorewater

12.01.2022 This is my least favourite part of the year. Doing paperwork for tax time! But it’s finally done. I feel so much better now Each year I procrastinate and put off getting all my tax work together. And each year I regret not doing it sooner But it’s done I am all ready to visit my accountant.!! Yay! ... Who else loves end of financial year paperwork #ishouldoutsource #paperworkisboring #iwouldratherbehelpingmyclients #nutritionist #eatwellforhealth #getitdone #taxtime

11.01.2022 I love school holidays. My kids get to have time in their pyjamas, and just get to relax as a family. I get to stay in my PJ‘s, without having to rush anywhere and we all get to De-stress. Which we all need after the last few months!! I love that it is cold in Canberra so we have an excuse to stay inside and snuggle/play video games... We are all looking forward to when Dad gets to join in on the relaxation from weekend #nutritionist #familytime #taketimetorelax #destress #coffeekeepsmewarm #gamerlife #itscoldoutside #eatwellforhealth
