23.01.2022 A few HOT tips for storing spices whilst we cook up a storm to celebrate Father's Day: - spices should be kept out of direct light and away from heat (paprika, parsley and chives are extremely light sensitive) - you should be able to smell spices when you open the lid. If you need to put your nose into the jar, it might be time to replace it. If you decant spices: - select airtight containers (these are from @prettypantrylabels)... - remember to mark the expiry date on the bottom of the container because they have a shelf life - a chalkboard marker is good for writing expiry dates as it wipes off easily - keep more commonly used spices to the front and try not to hide any because they may be forgotten - wall mounts are a good way to save space - remember to label as you go @prettypantrylabels Who is having a roast for Sunday lunch or is that an English thing?

22.01.2022 A simple way to fold shopping bags to save space. Hope it helps x

22.01.2022 DOING IT TOGETHER Okay ladies, it's time to get started. I've designed a 30 day Declutter Challenge that we can do together. As busy women (sorry gents this one is for the ladies) we are often just that, busy, and we have a tendency to put ourselves at the end of the 'to do' list. Well this is all about YOU. I know there are bits in here that are about the house but it is designed to make your life easier and with Christmas just around the corner, there isn't a better tim...e to start. I will be doing it too and will share in my Instagram stories each day how I go through the process of decluttering. I have not put specific days as to when to do what. Personally, I have two little ones at home and our baby still naps/sleeps in our room, so it's not always practical to follow along to specific days. Do what you can, when you can. Small steps are progress. I will share a template on Instagram Stories too so you can screenshot it and mark it off as you go. Let's do it together, women supporting women, and please be sure to tag me so I can see you progress #effectivespaces Are you with me? . See more

22.01.2022 A few tips on organising linen: - Take everything out & declutter. - Ask yourself how many sets of sheets you need per bed. I have two, they normally get washed straight away so I don't need any more. - Check out my IGTV video on how to fold a fitted sheet. - If you have space, containers are perfect. They keep everything in their zone and you always know where they are. ... - @simplyorganized is on point here with clear baskets and labels on the shelves. You can see everything and everything has a home. Easy to access and easy to put away. - Any container works, you don't have to buy new, just remember that labels will save time as you know where everything is. - If you don't have much room (like me), then the way you fold linen will make a huge difference. - Store fitted sheet and pillow cases folded into the duvet cover. Like you are wrapping a present. If you would like a video on this please comment below. The idea is to keep each set together so when you pull them out to use, you have everything in one go. - I keep linen in drawers under the bed, it's quick to get to and positioned exactly where I need them. - For shallow drawers (that won't fit a bundle of sheets) I would store items in categories (fitted sheets/duvet covers/pillowcases etc) and "file fold". You could label the inside of the drawer, just on the lip, so you know what's what. Organising is about creating systems that work for you, have a play around and enjoy the process. I hope this helps.

12.01.2022 Remove the bulk of puffer jackets from your wardrobe with this simple method. Easy and quick to do, and takes up less space. It's not always practical to vacuum pack clothes, especially if you are in a climate that is somewhat unpredictable. Give this a try and let me know if it helps. x

12.01.2022 Happy Friday All Here is a little DIY to fix any messy cables. I think I've been in lockdown too long!

12.01.2022 An extra two weeks in lockdown. Yes it sucks and I'm not saying it's easy. Hey, I have a 7 month old, a toddler celebrating his second birthday tomorrow and an in-home service business I started just before Covid. BUT, I choose positivity and playgrounds are open in a week so that's something to celebrate . Have a great day. Melbourne, we've got this x

09.01.2022 Enjoy the tune...sound up xx

08.01.2022 Pantry moths are a real thing and they are gross, that's why decanting is important. But, save yourself some time and money and check the seals of jars/containers before you buy. I'm a @howardsstorage kind of gal for reliable, airtight containers. *Hot Tip* Pantry moths hate peppermint/bay leaves and a few other things. Now Googling pantry moths?

06.01.2022 Kids Storage. Do you prefer open or closed containers? Personally I like a mix of both, sitting on the fence?? Absolutely. Open baskets are extremely time efficient and for #busyparents, being able to put stuff back quickly is important. You still know where everything is and it's easy for both the kids and parents to access. Closed containers are good too, everything has a home and it can be more aesthetically pleasing if that's important to you. I'm a toy chest fan for b...igger toys. Pop the lid down and they are out of sight. The key is to find a system that works for you, or hire me to do it for you . I see so many photos of kids storage which are stunning to look at but would be difficult to maintain. Don't get photo envy. Always think about functionality and maintenance when setting up systems, and this applies to any space. Organising is about saving time not wasting it. If you need help, I'm here. See more

05.01.2022 Sleep in, remind me what that is again!! My number one tip to making your home feel organised is to make your bed every morning, as soon as you get up. It really sets you up for the day and takes two minutes. credit to @styleanddwell. Can I use your room for a bit??!! @ Armadale, Victoria, Australia

04.01.2022 Wall space is really good for storing hats. It will save them from getting squashed in the wardrobe and they look really pretty too. Command hooks work great and you can just grab and go. Are you a hat lover? . .... . . . . credit @iheartorganizing See more

03.01.2022 WORKSPACE Yesterday I organised a home office which had become a dumping ground, so much so, that my client was using her couch to work from rather than the office. If you need assistance setting up your home office, hit me up.

01.01.2022 We learn through taking action. Doesn't matter what it is, give it a go. If you are unsure where to start when it comes to #decluttering or #organising, just make a start and start small. You might try something and it doesn't work, that's okay. Edit and try again. Send me a DM if you need some guidance, I'm always happy to help. You've got this. x
