25.01.2022 late post : EKZ Harmony poster. We are all one but different. Different but the same!

25.01.2022 Change of scenery today, venturing out to see the Weribee State Rose garden. It was really nice sunny day, Roses are in full bloom with so many colours & varieties. Had a picnic in a shade big tree with such a pleasant sight.

25.01.2022 Today the EKZ family headed down to the local RAAF base to look through the aeroplane museum. It was a great experience learning about and seeing the planes of the past.

Today I completed a course through the Department of Health regarding Infectious Control and this provides us with further reassurance and knowledge during this time.

19.01.2022 Kung Hei Fat Choi Happy lunar new year to all. EKZ children have painted the Chinese dragon they are believed to bring good luck to people, therefore the longer the dragon dance, the more luck it will bring to the community. EKZ have diverse cultures, it is important to acknowledge & incorporate all of their cultural traditions into our programs.

13.01.2022 Monthly Evacuation Drill. Elly’s Kids Zone is following the best practice of evacuation, emergency and lockdown rehearsal which is every month. We ensure rehearsal conducted at different times of the day and thereby children gain varied experience, in leaving safely from the nearest exit point as a group. We rehearsed in a calm and positive way so the children understand that being prepared help us manage and problem solve when unexpected situations arise. As an educator it is required to have Evacuation Plan at each exit point of their service in case of fire or emergency. It is also a requirement that Evacuation are rehearsed and documented at least every 3 months when children start in care.

12.01.2022 We decorated our Halloween cookies a bit late. Anyhow they all enjoyed & had fun decorating their own way. In the morning attended the Featherbrook create n learn activity.

11.01.2022 Reading books is always part of our daily routine. Our book for today is Jack and the beanstalk.

11.01.2022 EKZ children participated in a Woolworths discovery tour today. The lady talked about all their healthy produce and asked the children if they knew the different types of fruit. She talked about how woolworths dont throw out food but donate to various food banks. We all toured the back of the store to see the box crushing recycling machine as well as the freezers where all the produce is kept and all the children commented that it was too cold. After the tour, they were all given the show bags. Thank you Woolworths Australia for giving the children such a great experience! #EKZfreshfoodkidsdiscoverytour

10.01.2022 A big thank you to all the EKZ kids and families for coming to celebrate another year of EKZ. 44deg was a little hot but its always fantastic for everyone to come together. There was lots of food and lots of laughs. Its another sad day but I would like to wish the Big Kids, Anika, Finn, Louis and Ayane all the best as they leave EKZ after all these years and move on the School next year. You kids have grown up so fast and Im sure you will love going to school next year. ...Once again thank you to all the EKZ parents for entrusting me with looking after all your precious angels. Its your children that make me love my job so much and its an absolute please caring for them every single day. Finally Merry Christmas to all and hope you all have a healthy and prosperous 2020. 06.01.2022 Beautiful weather today, I took the children for a walk to the oval to kick the balls and run around chasing each other. On the way back we plucked some flowers and leaves, so we decided to use for painting to create play opportunity using natural resources. Exploring the patterns of flowers transferred onto paper, mixing paint colours and creating shapes with no restrictions.

05.01.2022 We started this morning by going to the local oval and kicking the balls around before heading home to celebrate Anikas 5th birthday . Everyone at EKZ wished Anika a very Happy Birthday before we all sang Happy Birthday and ate yummy party food! hip...hip ...hooray!
