25.01.2022 What a crazy week! We’re back in Brisbane after a week in Sydney visiting family and friends. With everything happening on the Northern Beaches, we made the decision to drive back on Sunday before the border controls tightened Although we can’t spend Christmas with our families in Sydney, I feel very grateful that we live somewhere that has a lot of freedom right now (relatively) and that we will be able to celebrate with our Brisbane friends who are in the same boat ... #christmaseve #holidays #christmas #brisbane #celebrate #grateful #smallbusiness

25.01.2022 This pendant was commissioned last year as a special birthday present from one friend to another. Jemma chose the ginkgo leaf because it’s one of Eleanor’s favourites and represents resilience and endurance to her (it’s considered to be one of the world’s oldest living species of tree!). The pendant was carved from wax and cast in sterling silver, with engraving and hand finishing to enhance the veins radiating outwards. ... 24.01.2022 Coinciding with the Profile 2019 exhibition currently on at Australian Design Centre, we are delighted to have members from Jmga-Nsw participate in our ADC Make...rs Market this Saturday. The Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Australia, NSW (JMGA-NSW Inc.) is a membership based organisation, representing jewellery and object practitioners throughout New South Wales. As a volunteer non-profit organisation, they provide a forum to promote, support and develop the field of contemporary jewellery. JMGA-NSW has three artists participating at the Makers Market: Rebecca Hinwood, Contemporary Jewellery Artist: Contemporary Jewellery designer Rebecca Hinwood designs and hand crafts her unique jewellery pieces from her studio space at Gaffa. Rebecca’s practice is informed by the beautiful qualities of Australia’s natural environment. Minji Han: Minji Han currently owns a contemporary jewellery and object brand called Minjimorphic Jewellery and Objects. Her design practice largely involves reinterpretation of her surroundings, whether it be nature, people or situation in which she is placed, by composing an abstract structure. Emma Field AU: Currently based in Newcastle, Emma Field is a jeweller and designer whose work is informed by geometry, architecture and nature. 16.01.2022 Here’s to a challenging, wonderful, and heartbreaking 2019 The past few months have been hard. My dad passed away at the end of November after a short and tough battle with a rare kidney cancer. It’s been incredibly tough, but losing dad has made me even more grateful for the the goals that I’ve achieved and the good things that have happened this year. I did my first two markets (within a month of each other! ), starting at stocking at a beautiful store in Ne...wcastle, was a finalist in @JMGA’s Profile ‘19, and helped my clients create some bespoke jewellery that I’m so so proud of. I joined a kick-ass soccer team (we won our grand final! ), witnessed three of my closest friends get married, worked with the best work-family ever (@familychiropractic ) and celebrated three years with my partner @clagsy. 2020 will bring some new adventures to my life... The biggest news is that we‘re moving to Brisbane next week I’m still going to making/designing jewellery and growing my business so don’t worry!
