14.01.2022 Jessie gave birth to our darling Anika in December 2016 This story book celebrates the gift of love given from surrogate to intended parent, and the gift of life that is the child.

12.01.2022 So a quick google last night revealed that The Gift of Me is now for sale on Amazon - which should be great news but as I haven't even seen a printed copy I am suffering new-self-published-author panic and want one in my hands before I publicise the link (what if the pages are upside down??!). While I wait to get hold of one, here is a link about our surrogacy story, with a broader focus on surrogacy in Australia. The article is from 2016 but many still current issues are explored. Love to hear stories from others too who have been through surrogacy who are following the page. Each story is unique.

08.01.2022 Now available for worldwide sale! (Amazon, Book Depository, other retailers) ‘Most kids are made with a bit of their mum And a bit of their dad, safe and snug in her tum. But some special kids they need someone else too.... Someone to help them, more than just two.’ This is the story of two families who had never met, and a baby yet to be born. Out of struggle and sorrow came a gift of compassion and love and a new life for a little girl, and her delighted family. Surrogacy is the rarest of gifts. Children born in this miraculous way can hear the story of how they came into the world with this special book written by the mother of a surrogate child, and illustrated by her young cousin.

05.01.2022 The Gift of Me was launched at Turner School, Canberra, in December 2019. Author Emma Wood read it aloud to a delightful audience of 4-6 year old students with illustrator Claudia Moran and surro-bub Anika, now 3.

05.01.2022 Looking forward to attending this conference with a few books in hand for anyone with a surro-bub who'd like to read about their unique journey into the world. See you Sunday in Melbourne!

03.01.2022 The Gift of Me is proudly a family project. Creating and nurturing families is what surrogacy is all about. So I am introducing the illustrator, my dear and talented niece Claudia, pictured here with Anika, our surro-miracle. In her own words: 'Claudia Moran has always loved drawing and painting. This project took months to complete because she had to imagine drawings that would help tell the story to her little cousin and maybe others young children too. Being only twelve years old and a published illustrator is something that will be in her heart forever. She feels honoured to have been given this opportunity and be part of a special journey with Emma, Jessie and her beautiful cousin Anika.'

02.01.2022 It's out there - internationally - for sale for any surro-families who'd like to start a conversation with their surro-child about the wonderful story of how they were born. I'm sharing the Book Depository link here (currently the cheapest) but it's also on Amazon, Booktopia, and, ummm, other booksellers! IOf you read it and enjoy it, please share it with with friends who are on the surrogacy journey too. Here you go Jessie Lee - you're in print!
