25.01.2022 Another sensational property from one of our customers in Redesdale as featured in this year's Sustainable House Day. Passiv Haus design, all-electric, solar, Sanden heat pump etc. - plus some stunning views. https://sustainablehouseday.com//noonameena-our-bush-rest/

25.01.2022 Yet again NZ is leading the way with Jacinda Arden ditching her diesel BMW for an Audi EV. While on this side of the Tasman the Commonwealth car fleet have opted for diesel BMWs (and would not even allow Tesla to tender). https://thedriven.io//jacinda-ardern-to-get-all-electric-/

25.01.2022 A two Tesla 24 hour period at our charging station; Tesla Model 3s from Castlemaine and Mostyn. There is a definite EV trend happening in central Victoria.

21.01.2022 There's so many reasons why we choose to install Winaico solar panels from Taiwan ... and now there's an even better reason. A world class 25 year product warranty to fit alongside their 25 year performance warranty. This additional product warranty is available to all solar systems sold from today and covers the M6 range (from 325W) and MX range (from 335W). Check out more details at winaico.com or give us a call to specify Winaico for you new solar project. https://www.winaico.com//winaico-announces-25-year-produc/

20.01.2022 An interesting history of renewables in Australia; despite the shortcomings of national government leadership we have actually progressed quite a long way. https://www.abc.net.au//renewable-energy-in-austr/12915110

20.01.2022 One of our recent commercial solar installations in Mount Alexander Shire, featuring Winaico panels and a 3 phase Fronius Symo inverter. Your pet veterinary needs will be supported with mostly renewable energy from now on.

20.01.2022 Great day for driving an EV ... and for charging from our solar system. We love to meet new EV owners, even if it does give us a bit of Tesla-envy.

19.01.2022 Another reason why we (and our customers) love using Winaico panels for the majority of our solar installations; their panels (from Taiwan) now come with a full 25 year product warranty (at no cost and in addition to the standard 25 year performance warranty). And customers get a certificate to confirm it. https://www.winaico.com.au/

18.01.2022 Air changes is a really key consideration in making houses more energy efficient. This video explains some of the principles and looks at an integrated approach to solving this issue in a typical 70s brick veneer. Really emphasises the lack of a single "silver bullet" eg. double glazing, insulation etc. Happy to discuss any of these strategies for upgrading you existing dwelling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZrzGjXTRAo

17.01.2022 Final commissioning of the commercial system in Castlemaine. 50 panels on tilt frames installed by our team in less than a week; and despite some rather inclement weather.

17.01.2022 As our existing customers will confirm a focus on energy efficiency in houses and commercial premises is what drives us in our day to day work. Hopefully articles like this will encourage more people to pursue similar goals ... and maybe even convince our political leaders to invest in more sustainable housing. Let us know if you would like us to assess the energy efficiency of your home and advise on improvements. https://www.theguardian.com//this-builder-used-to-be-scept

15.01.2022 A great day in Bendigo to start storing excess solar energy in a new Tesla Powerwall with the battery full before 11am. These customers should be living completely on renewable energy through summer and autumn, even in the event of a power blackout.

13.01.2022 In celebration of World Electric Vehicle Day (tomorrow) we will be talking all things EV on Hearsay on MAINfm 94.9 around 10am this morning.

13.01.2022 Some big new initiatives for household energy efficiency ... and an expansion of the current solar and battery rebates. If you are keen to consider insurance against future electricity price increases, solar export restrictions and/or summer blackouts best talk to us about battery storage soon.

13.01.2022 Great to see another EV owner putting a charge into (and getting a thrill out of) their brand new Hyundai Kona Highlander. Best wishes for your EV adventures.

13.01.2022 Our monthly spot on Hearsay will focus on battery technology - pros, cons, costs, rebates, which appliances they can support etc. Tuesday at 10am on MAINfm 94.9.

13.01.2022 Some interesting data in this research report, which reinforces the reason that we like to take a holistic approach to energy demand and efficiency when we consult with our customers on renewable energy. Often solar panels (and even battery storage) are not the most effective option. https://onestepoffthegrid.com.au/even-with-rooftop-solar-b/

12.01.2022 A nice looking upgrade to a local customer's inverter, and definitely a unit that will last more than 12 years. We are building up quite a museum collection of older failed inverters.

12.01.2022 Wondering if we could design a brick veneer transfer to make the Tesla Powerwall blend in with our customer's wall? Suspect Tesla may not approve. Either way the Powerwall makes for a streamlined way of integrating battery storage with existing solar pv (or even future pv as in this case).

12.01.2022 Just in time for this delivery of Sanden heat pump hot water units as we have eight customers in the queue for upgrades to their old hot water units. 2020 is turning out to be the year of efficient heat pump hot water.

12.01.2022 How are your floors coping with frosty mornings? Underfloor insulation can make a real difference, as evidenced by this recent feedback from a customer in Newstead: "Thank you all so much for your service and the excellent job done installing this insulation - the difference it makes is enormous!!" If you would like an obligation free measure and quote for improved insulation under your floors or in your ceilings give us a call on 5472 4160.

11.01.2022 Beats carrying them up the ladder

10.01.2022 This off grid customer west of Maryborough is expanding his system to prepare for a Tesla EV in the New Year. Had a nice DC coupled solar array with a Selectronic battery inverter. We have upgraded the Selectronic unit and added 5 kW of AC coupled solar on roof of the machinery shed to the left of the house. Still capacity to add more solar when another shed is constructed.

10.01.2022 All-electric is becoming the flavour of the year in Castlemaine and surrounds. This Sanden heat pump unit will be the efficient (and whisper-quiet) backbone of the hot water system for the owners of this newly completed build for years to come.

08.01.2022 With lower solar feed in tariffs self consumption becomes much more relevant, which is why we always start the solar consultation process with a detailed analysis of the customer's energy profile (seasonal, weekly, daily etc). Our approach appears to be confirmed in this recent study. Another reason to talk to us about the right solar setup for your situation. https://onestepoffthegrid.com.au/north-facing-rooftop-sola/

08.01.2022 Central Victoria can expect a steady stream of visitors from Melbourne over the weekend, and hopefully a number of them will be happy EV owners/drivers like this couple from Croydon. Maybe a campaign is required to turn next month into dEVember?

08.01.2022 A nice upgrade to an existing solar system - we have increased the solar array, added DC optimisers to some panels, and installed a hybrid Redback inverter and battery system. In the past 30 days the customer has been 90% self sufficient in electricity; they should be able to get to 100% once daylight saving kicks in.

06.01.2022 It is Sustainable House Day 2020 with free webinars all day from 10am. 30 sessions covering many of the subjects we discuss with our customers on a regular basis including being all-electric. The sessions are being recorded and will be archived on Renew's website on the Renew YouTube channel. Owners of the 180 plus featured homes across the country homes) have uploaded video presentations, to give you a virtual tour of their house and an ongoing source of advice and inspiration. www.sustainablehouseday.com

05.01.2022 We love working with new builds and their owners to incorporate high quality solar components to make houses increasingly self sufficient. This 5 kW system featuring Winaico monocrystalline panels and Fronius inverters now graces the roof of this house in Chewton.

04.01.2022 Some nice feedback from a customer in Chewton who is now the proud owner of a Tesla Powerwall 2; local advice, service and support really does make a difference.

04.01.2022 We're working on a large commercial system for a veterinary clinic in Castlemaine this week. 16.5kW of Winaico monocrystalline panels and three phase Fronius Symo inverter - all designed to save more than $4500 per annum on electricity bills.

04.01.2022 There is a growing population of electric vehicles in central Victoria with a number of Nissan Leafs, both new and secondhand imports. We are now installing EV chargers for our clients, and recommending provision for EV charging in new builds etc. You should be putting an EV into your plans for the 2020s. https://www.theguardian.com//electric-cars-green-recovery-

04.01.2022 We have a great team at the EnviroShop Newstead and it was fitting to recognise their contributions with a great Sunday afternoon at Welshmans Reef Winery - all helped along by the fabulous catering by The Blackbird Newstead. Well done all!

03.01.2022 Another stylish Redback hybrid solar and battery system installed for a customer in Welshmans Reef. A very effective solution for a site with zero export capacity. And a nice neat finish by our team of Glenn and Mel.

02.01.2022 This customer in Ararat has got his self consumption down to a tee; the blue line is his daily solar production this week; the red line is his energy consumed. He has tweaked his usage to get these two lines to overlap for much of the time.

01.01.2022 A number of our customers in central Victoria are featuring their homes as part of Sustainable House Day 2020, including this lovely all-electric home built by Michelle and Simon in Daylesford. https://sustainablehouseday.com/listing/candlebark-house/

01.01.2022 We are big fans of Matt Risinger, host of the Build Show in the USA and a passionate advocate for high quality, energy efficient buildings. Here he has turned his attention to heat pumps for hot water which explains many of the principles that we advocate to clients installing our Sanden models. https://www.youtube.com/watch
