10.01.2022 Christmas came early for us! This grant will enable us to complete Stage 1 of the Courthouse restoration to make the building safe and watertight. However, we still need to continue to fundraise to restore the building in Stage 2.

09.01.2022 The Committee of Essendon Historical Society has made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming events and to close the Moonee Ponds Court House Museum in Mount Alexander Road until further notice. While we are sad to close our doors, especially as we have only just re-opened them following the post-fire restoration of the Court House, our priority is to care for the health and wellbeing of our members and our local community. We will continue to operate online and post a...ny updates here and on the EHS website esshissoc.org.au. If you have any historical inquiries, please complete a research application form which can be downloaded from the EHS website. For any other queries, contact us at [email protected] you for your understanding and continued support. *** This photograph shows Essendon High School (now the Essendon Campus of Essendon Keilor College on Buckley Street) in 1919 when the school closed temporarily to become the City of Essendon Influenza Hospital.

05.01.2022 To celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2020, we have created a calendar that blends our local history with the modern-day. Each month contrasts a historic photo of a local landmark the present day. The calendar is A3 in size, spiral-bound and just $15. There is a limited print run of these calendars, so they will sell out. They make the perfect gift at this busy time of year To find out how to purchase a calendar, visit our website: https://esshissoc.org.au/publications/
