25.01.2022 We have a new team member at the clinic but he has arrived nameless and we need your help. His Breeder has nicknamed him Rambo as he seems to get a little heavy handed with tank mates but we think our lovely patients should name him. Place your suggestion in the comments and the name with the most likes will win naming rights.... Put on your creative caps. Voting will close on Friday 7th August.

25.01.2022 How well do you know our Family Health Clinic team? Over the next few weeks we will share some true trivia snippets about a staff member. Comment with your guess on which staff member and we will reveal the answer. Which talented staff member do you think was the only girl in an all male AFL team that represented NQ Games?

25.01.2022 Update about coronavirus (COVID-19) in Queensland 06/09/2020.

25.01.2022 We understand the Lockyer Valley is now deemed a 'moderate risk', under the Pandemic Response Guidance on PPE in Healthcare Delivery. This guidance applies to all Queensland Health facilities and is also recommended for all other healthcare providers (e.g. general practice, private hospitals, community care etc.). For 'moderate risk' areas the guidance indicates: *. Universal masking of all patients and visitors at health care facilities. If you have a mask available we ...would encourage you to wear it while at the practice. A surgical mask or fabric mask with a minimum of 3 layers is recommended for patients. *. Team members will be wearing surgical (flat) masks during consultations where social distancing can not be observed and if working in close quarters with consumers; and full PPE only when interacting with suspected COVID cases. We are taking extra precautions to keep our community safe and appreciate your co-operation with complying with all directions during these difficult times.

24.01.2022 Please follow the link for the latest Queensland health directive in relation to testing. With a positive COVID case in the Lockyer Valley it is extremely important to follow all guidelines and precautions and if you are displaying any of the symptoms below to phone for a consultation and isolate until clearance is obtained. Please do not present to the practice if you are experiencing any of these symptoms. We will have a doctor contact you for a telehealth appointment to discuss.

12.01.2022 We get this question a lot, especially following the requirement for people to wear face masks in other parts of the country. Face masks can be a useful measur...e to help control sustained community transmission. Sustained community transmission is when we have multiple cases of locally acquired COVID-19 where contact tracing and testing is unable to identify how the person was infected. At the moment, there is no evidence to suggest that Queensland has any sustained community transmission. If you live in the greater region of Brisbane, a face mask might be suitable if: You are in a situation where social distancing cannot be maintained, i.e. public transport or a busy shopping centre If your GP has told you to wear one If you are caring for someone who has COVID-19 If you are attending a GP clinic, hospital or ED If you are sick and getting a COVID-19 test Face masks alone will not protect you from COVID-19. It is also vital that other COVID safe practices are followed, including: Washing hands often and thoroughly Maintaining a social distancing Covering coughs or sneezes Staying at home if unwell Getting tested if youre showing any signs of COVID-19.
