20.01.2022 Hi all, I'm Rob Taylor and I've offered to assist Joseph in running this page. Early this year I took Joseph up on purchasing this guitar after seeing it posted here on FB. The Soxycaster. Hand wound single coil PUPs with the Ulbrick Silent System. You can find the specs in the final picture.... This guitar added a stratlike single coil tone into my regular playing which has been dominated by my Les Paul for years. I say stratlike because strictly speaking this guitar sounds sweeter if that is possible. I can pull off Nile Rogers like clean tones and then bust back into the humbucker and hand out some killer rock tones. The position between the kneck and middle pickup is sublime for clean funk. 19.01.2022 I started my lutherie career after nearly 8 years repairing and 10 years playing guitar live for a living. At that time i focused exclusively on Torres style classical guitars...as working on electrics all day at my day repair job in Berlin was quite enough. Now I am back to making handmade acoustics again. This all mahogany OM is fairly traditional in approach. The bracing material is a mixture of Adirondack spruce and Western red cedar. The client plays plectrum strumming v...ery lightly with 11s....so the goal is warmth and fidelity. I'm planning on a handrubbed, French Polished finish burst like old Gibsons from the 1930s. 10.01.2022 For perfect fretwork the fingerboard needs to be accurately levelled to a very fine tolerance. Anything less doesn't produce the very best results. #Soxified
