18.01.2022 Social day with friends out of Cairns having a snorkel and lunch at Fitzroy Island

18.01.2022 Was going to head out through Russell Heads today but had a issue pop up and had to cancel but then it got sorted late last night so went out from Cairns today instead. Hit the water at 430am and headed out through the rain . Pulled up at a spot I call Nannie central and put the minnkota to work. First drop two nice 80cm large mouth nannies and it keep on going from there as they were on the chew. Bite ended up shutting down around 830am as a westerly pushed through. We ended... up with large mouth nannies, Rosie job fish, Mauri sea bream, spangled emporer. I took one of my best mates Damien Ottone out with me as his freezer is empty and he had some fun in 70m plus , few moans and grunts from a good double header .....he is out of condition lol, he is in the photo with a couple of nice nannies . Went trolling for Mackrell but got nothing ....one pic is of a huge bait school at kings point -great for chasing Mackrell there . See more

17.01.2022 Hi guys there is a maybe this Friday night and Saturday that we might get to wet our boats. For those who don’t know we are forecast thunder storms Friday and Saturday so make sure you are prepared with safety gear if you decide to go out and not find yourself in a bad situation fast. Let’s hope the weather does drop and go and smack a few Mackrell as they are thick out there from the people I’ve spoken too

16.01.2022 Another year done and dusted fishing , last night Postele Fishing Club had our presentation night. I took out Champion Angler for the second year running for reef and estuary . My so called mates also awarded me the shit stirrer award who knows why a big thank you to Dave and Simone that own Lee Longs Tackle shop at Gordonvale for you generous sponsorship if you want to fish regularly and learn different techniques there is a wealth of knowledge at this club and plenty of friendly family outings and fun

06.01.2022 Hi guys here are some weigh points to help the guys with kids out that struggle a bit to get a feed on the reef . Remember fishing these marks I’ve done at night for finger mark and nannies, other shallower marks are for trout during the day. These have produced well over the yrs and yes I am not guaranteeing you will catch stonier fish but at least helping you guys in the direction of getting a feed for your family. Like I said I am happy to give out some marks and there will be more to come in the future , hope you do well and post me photos if you do
