13.01.2022 CANTEEN GOOD NEWS STORY Whilst we have managed to clean out the canteen, Father Mac and Regis canteen, we were trying to relocate some food items to worthy caus...es. Unfortunately, one of the effects of this insidious virus is that many charities were unable to accept our donation of fresh flavoured milks and bread. A local lady, Michelle B., who collects weekly for the NICU parent room at RNSH, collected these to share at Ryde, Macquarie and RNS hospitals for staff working on the frontline. Yesterday we filled her car with food that our boys would have quickly demolished in a day, for distribution to the staff of RNSH ED, paramedics coming to the hospital and admin staff on the desk of the ED. They were overwhelmed to be thought of by us, as they struggle with a huge demand for services and very long hours of work. A small way to be "men and women for others" and we're proud to be Riverview staff member who can help. Michelle's message: "I wish you had been there this afternoon when I delivered to RNSH ED. They were blown away. I gave staff at the front desk one, then the paramedics, doctors, nurses and then stocked the entire staff tearoom fridge with your fabulous products. Thank you just doesn't seem enough".

The endangered population of Gang-gang Cockato...os in Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai disappeared from the area in 2016, but they are back and have recently been sighted flying over Beecroft Nursery. We dont know exactly why they are back it might be a cooler autumn or it could be that fires burned up food resources elsewhere. Either way, were excited! One of the best pieces of news Ive received for a very... long time is that my dear friend & one of the best Agents I know, Lee Dowdall - McGrath Estate Agents has returned to full time work this week. Many of you will know that Lee & Helenas beautiful daughter Harper passed away on 24 October last year as a result of an aggressive brain tumour discovered in April 2019. Harper was without a doubt the most beautiful & courageous little girl Ive ever met. The decision for Lee & Helena to move back into a working environment has been understandably challenging to say the least, but as they said to me recently Harper would have wanted us both to move forward when the time was right & finally that time has arrived. We can now honour Harpers all-too-short life with the work we do in the future as a legacy to our amazing daughter. I know that as Lee & Helena move forward, they will have their proud daughter Harper by their side in all their endeavours continuing to bring them love, courage & inspiration. #mcgrathestateagents #family
