25.01.2022 Preserving doesnt just mean Fernlin Farm garden produce! Today I retrieved my old Italian sardine preserving recipe which we use to enjoy with our old neighbours and pickled up some garfish. Recipe says they last 12 months in fridge but never did we get the opportunity to test that! Gone on a flash!! Yummmm

25.01.2022 Statistics as I can understand

25.01.2022 Fernlin Farm has enjoyed and sweltered in some low 40s with high humidity over the last week. Then in a matter of 8 minutes and 10mm rain the rumbling Thunder and its flashing sister Lightening came with a real flurry whilst the cattle huddled from the storm, Lightening set a fire in the trees on the Fernbank Stockdale Road just around the corner!! Thank to to fire fighters and water bombing(looks like a mossie over the trees in pics) it all appears safe again!

24.01.2022 East Gippsland has been in rain drought this year so Fernlin Farm are resorting to hand feeding our ladies and their babies!! Special discounts for all direct call phone bookings in September who are referred by FB friends so give me a call. 0437854402

23.01.2022 Might try this one!

21.01.2022 The new dinning setting David has made for us at Fernlin Farm is working a treat and fits beautifully!! Just what we wanted. Now part 2 of the project has been started on the matching benchtop to sit alongside. Seems he feels the need to test it out first! LOL

20.01.2022 Couldnt do what was planned for garden at Fernlin Farm today so I decided to make an indulgent afternoon tea. A great alternative I thought! Two flavours: Caramel walnut and spiced marinated fruit cinnamon scrolls!! Perfect day for it. You never know what home made treat might be store on the farm!

19.01.2022 Long shadows were cast on Wednesday morning by the early rising sun to melt the first light frost of the season at Fernlin Farm and gave us another glorious day. Looking forward to our long weekend and the many events East Gippsland has to offer displaying their fine foods, produce and activities. Come visit us in the east! Enjoy a #lifestyleeastgippsland #loveeastgippsland #feastoneastatmetung #fernlin #fernlinfarm

19.01.2022 David has completed part 2 of the Fernlin Farm kitchen project with a beautiful timber slab topped serving cabinet to tone in with the table. Bobo the cat duly performed a quality inspection as the cabinet was constructed before the top could be fix! LOL Last section will be making the wall plate rack ... I think this is my Christmas present but I fear time is not on Santas side !!

18.01.2022 Victoria in grips with a "rain event"... thats the same as saying its rainy weather in the old language! No matter at #Fernlinfarm! We are sharing with friends and enjoy the weather with tasty platters! Home smoked mussells and my pickled garfish, which has exceeded my expectations, and a variety of cheeses and a little tipple! Every day is a good day at Fernlin Farm!

16.01.2022 Just when i feel Im doing well along comes Christmas!

13.01.2022 The joy of cool days is the fun collecting wood for the fireplace and cookers. Slow cooking a tasty meal on the combustion stove or something quicker perhaps in the pizza oven. With the Fernlin Farm BBQ fire drum burning too there is no fear of getting cold for outdoor entertaining in winter. We are looking forward to going to the Regional food fair in Metung this weekend where #Feastoneastatmetung is showcasing only local produce - best Victoria has to offer! #fernlinfarm #loveeastgippsland See you there!

13.01.2022 Fernlin Farm has a beautiful potted display of Tiger Lillies. Also known as Christmas Lillies for obvious reasons but really we wouldnt mind if they were flowering all year!!

13.01.2022 Beautiful sunrise at Fernlin Farm today with the "farmers warning"! We watched the storm circle us all day. Then watched its approach with fascination totally changing th skies! Just 10 minutes of rain and it was gone!! Something so wonderful having the expanse to see more broadly than just the sky immediately above your head. Come visit and experience that beauty an freedom.

13.01.2022 Fernbank has had another lovely drop of rain in the last 24 hours and Fernlin Farm is thrilled! Tonight the sunset and rainbow just wraps up the day like a ribbon on the gift...

13.01.2022 We have had some lovely day and pretty cool mornings this year. Actually more frosts this year than expected but still along with th pumpkins had tomatoes and chillies to reap from the garden at end of June. And what better way could there be to use this produce up, warm up and enjoy this late harvest than make a Chilli Green Tomato Relish to have with cold cuts!! A new lot of seeds now planted to fill the voids and winter pantry! Love the farm lifestyle at Fernlin Farm!

09.01.2022 Smoker got fired up over the weekend at Fernlin Farm. If you enjoy a slice of bacon you have never tasted one as good as that which is freshly smoked at home!! Of course while it is going, best to make the most of that smoke so I added a fillet of salmon! Hmmm yum yum yum! A tasty snack to have pre dinner with a drink. We sweetened the chilly winters Sunday night with an Apple and Black Grape tart in a Berry breadbase. Then guess whats for breakfast? The joys of country living! ... why not give it a try?

09.01.2022 Last daylight at Fernlin Farm after another beautiful day in East Gippsland. Those clouds are giving some hope for rain to dampen the soil allowing the pastures to thrive and fill the tanks and dams. So I guess we wont see the glorious Milky Way tonight as it will be hiding behind these powder puffs! We just cross our fingers for a shower.

06.01.2022 Where else can you get such beautiful days, glorious views and new lambs grazing at your back door? Fernlin Farm B&B can offer this and more! Like the loyal dog standing ready for the next working command or the cat lazing on a cushion in the lounge room window! A balance of nature all around! Share the joy...come join us or like us! Thank you friends.

06.01.2022 A year of low rainfall in East Gippsland and Ferlin Farm certainly missed the moisture but back to an average fall in October and the garden is loving it!! Kids love picking their own peas, snow peas and sugar snap a favorite along with baby rocket! I personally like the spinach, cos lettuce and radishes in my salads!

05.01.2022 Wishing all our FB friends and #Fernlinfarm guests a wonderful Christmas full of family love and laughter with a fantastic New Year and productive 2018.

04.01.2022 Fernlin Farm garden is popular with the parrots and it seems they like young peas and brussell sprouts! I am hoping they learn to share more than spring onions so I get some peas too!! So today i started preparations for our next crop and in went some broad beans and some broccoli.

03.01.2022 What a beautiful welcome to the day! Our morning sunrises at Fernlin Farm make promises for perfect autumn days. http://www.fernlinfarm.com.au/

03.01.2022 What a magnificent long weekend. We have just spent the morning wondering the foreshore of Metung before exploring the fabulous produce that East Gippsland has to offer at Feast on East Festival. Sipping on local regional wines and savoring the pastries, an spicy meals on offer for lunch. #lifestyleeastgippsland, #feastoneastatmetung, #loveeastgippsland
