25.01.2022 One of my beautiful little regular clients Hercules. He is an itch sufferer and has been clipped regularly over the past 3yrs this was a before and after of today's clip which helps his owners keep on top of his itch.

24.01.2022 Current Prices and ideal times to clip Miniature Horses and Ponies- $75 per horse includes razoring and mane removal I recommend for them to be clipped 1 week before the show and heavily rugged Ponies 11hh-13hh- $85 per pony includes shaving the tail if necessary I recommend for them to be clipped about 3-5 weeks out from the show depending on how quickly the horse blows their coat and to have at least 3-4 rugs on dependant on weather ... Galloways 13.1hh-14.3hh- $95 per horse includes shaving the tail if necessary I recommend for them to be clipped about 3-5 weeks out from the show depending on how quickly the horse blows their coat and to have at least 3-4 rugs on dependant on weather Horses over 14.3hh- $110 per horse includes shaving the tail if necessary I recommend for them to be clipped about 3-5 weeks out from the show depending on how quickly the horse blows their coat and to have at least 3-4 rugs on dependant on weather I will eventually go on to include things like plaiting and handler or rider show ring presentation in my services as well I still have to decide on prices for these but they will only go up if they are wanted. 22.01.2022 Queensland Itch The season for it is now well under way and with so many products on the market sometimes it can be difficult to choose what's best. Initially you want to ensure that you are prepared 110% to really try and treat your equine. Clipping is often a great first base so that external treatments can get closer to the skin. If using internal treatments then clipping isn't necessary however if using both internal and external treatments clipping should be carefully ...considered. Firstly internal treatments that have been used by clients and friends that work. QI EASE Tumeric paste or powder Coconut oil Low sugar, molasses and grain diets (the less sweet the blood for the bities the better) External treatments are more common however quality products generally containing natural ingredients have been proven best to work. I won't name them all but here are just a few. Itch magic Neem soaps and other neem based products Donerite herbal shampoo Malaseb shampoo Citronella oil and based products Deet QI Gold serum Heritage Downs products Brute The other key to helping your equine through their itch is to rug. Light summer cotton or fly mesh rugs that cover from head to tail are best. Try to ensure they aren't in a paddock where they can rub and most importantly ensure that you do internal treatments every day and external at least 3-4 times a week. Having a second rug is also great as an itchy horse should have a fresh rug change every fortnight at the maximum. Fresh clean rugs and stabling can also help in your fight against itch. I hope this helps in some way and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Bec

20.01.2022 We are moving to Roma so I should answer some of your Q&As Why are you moving to Roma? That's where I will be living and where I will be having my little one. Will you still service the Sunshine Coast? Yes I will but will post up when I will be on or around the coast and spots and times might be a little harder to get but I also have a wonderful friend who I can recommend for when I'm not on the coast.... What areas will you service? I will service areas from Mitchell, Injune, Roma and through the Western Downs, Toowoomba and Sunshine Coast regions. Bookings will become essential as this is such a huge part of Queensland to cover and I'm only a one woman team. When will you be off maternity leave? Once I've had my baby in July and then had time to recover and spend some quality time with my little one. When can we start booking in? Ideally I would suggest from about mid September and if I can't do it from then I will notify you as to when I will be starting up again. Do you charge a travel fee? I will only if I don't have a great deal of horses to do in a particular area or if I haven't planned to travel to a particular area, traveling fee will be dependent on your location. As a general rule I don't charge a travel fee. What should we do to prepare our horse for you? Either the day before or a few hours before the scheduled clip time please throughly scrub your horse, dirty horses are not at all fun to clip and I may be inclined to change you extra for new blades or for them to be sharpened. If you have any other questions you would like answered please pop them into the comments. If you know of someone who is in one of the new areas mentioned who might be interested in our services then get them to mention the Q&A Post (they must mention it in order to receive) and I will happily do them a new customer discount. Thank you to all my loyal customers and please remember to keep you and your equines safe, cosy and warm this winter and keep on having fun no matter what you do. Bec
