21.01.2022 Recipe Friday: Teriyaki chicken bites with crispy gnocchi & broccoli INGREDIENTS 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs 1 bag brocolli gnocchi ... Coconut aminos Teriyaki sauce Nutritional yeast Olive oil / cooking spray . DIRECTIONS Put gnocchi in a pan straight from the freezer on low/med heat & the top on. Once theyve thawed out a little, add olive oil & nutritional yeast. Up the heat to medium & saute. Check them every 2 ish mins, adding more olive oil & nutritional yeast until crispy. . Cut up chicken thighs into bite sized pieces. Heat 1-2 tbsp olive oil on the stove then add the chicken. Once almost cooked through, pour in teriyaki sauce (mayb like 3 tbsp? Idk feel it out). . Steam broccoli then saute in olive oil. 18.01.2022 Recipe Friday: Sweet Chili Baked Salmon Creamy Lemon Garlic Chicken Ingredients: 4, 4-5 ounce skinless wild caught salmon fillets... sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds For the sweet chili sauce: 1/2 cup raw honey, or pure maple syrup 1/2 cup water 2 Tbsps rice vinegar 3 tsps cornstarch, arrowroot powder, or gluten-free flour 1/2 to 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, to taste 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp sea salt Serving suggestions: Steamed broccoli Brown rice or quinoa chives or green onions as garnish Instructions: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees f. and line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper In a medium saucepan add all of your sauce ingredients, then whisk well until combined Place the saucepan over medium heat while, whisking constantly, bring your sauce to a boil. Onion Chickpea penne Plant-based ricotta Organic spinach DIRECTIONS: Heat olive oil in a pan then add chopped onion & zucchini & saute until tender. Cook pasta & once done, drain & reserve 1/3 cup ish of the pasta water. Add penne & spinach in the pan with the other ingreds, lowering the heat to a simmer. dd the ricotta & a little bit of the water at a time, until desired consistency. We can't wait to get back into the swing of things - but before you go pumping weights and crushing cardio, read these 4 tips about how to ease your body back into a routine: . 1. Don’t expect to be at the level you were when you were last in the gym.... . Whether you’ve been training at home or not, it’s safe to say the intensity and volume haven’t been the same as it was when you were training before the gyms closed. To save your body and ego from injury, take it easy. . 2. Do expect to be sore. . Remember when you first started training how sore you were? How it was hard to get up from the toilet after leg day? How you couldn’t straighten your arms after countless push-ups and pull-ups? . Muscle soreness is a side effect of the stress put on muscles when you exercise. Some soreness is good, it’s a sign you’re adapting to the training and your muscle fibres are repairing. The type of soreness you don’t want is when it lasts longer than 3 days and it prevents you from practising your daily activities. . To lessen the chance of extreme muscle soreness, take precautions like stretching before and after a workout, and consuming protein shortly after exercise to rebuild muscle. . 3. Use protein for muscle repair and recovery. . Protein sources other than protein powders include meat, seafood, eggs, high protein dairy, tofu, beans, legumes and TVP (textured vegetable protein). A protein shake is also a quick and convenient way to get your intake up wherever you are. . 4. Remember: carbohydrates are your friend. . Carbohydrates are the primary energy source for exercise that is above roughly 60% intensity. 14.01.2022 Spicy Garlic Eggplant! This spicy side dish will add a bunch of flavour to your meal. Recipe (makes 2-3 servings) Ingredients: 1lb [450g] Japanese eggplant,... 2oz [65g] firm tofu, pressed and mashed 6 dried chilis, boiled to soften then chopped 1 tablespoon finely minced ginger 3 cloves garlic, finely minced a handful of chopped green onions oil for cooking salt to taste Sauce: 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 tablespoon Chenkiang vinegar, 1 tablespoon Michiu or vegetable broth, 3/4 cup water with 1 teaspoon cornstarch Procedures Prepare the eggplant, cut into 2 chunks, and shallow pan fry for a minute. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat with a drizzle of oil and add in the mashed tofu. Pan-fry tofu until golden brown, then push to the side of the pan. Add another swirl of oil in the pan, and sauté chili, ginger, and garlic until aromatic, about 1 minute. Place in the partially cooked eggplant and season with soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, michiu, and give it a quick toss to combine. Gradually add in the water with cornstarch then stir to mix all the ingredients together and let the mixture simmer until the sauce is thickened and eggplant is fork-tender. Season with more salt or soy sauce if needed. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve warm with a bowl of your favorite cooked grain. See more

Food Selection: Try to base meals on around protein and plants (fruit and veggies) with wholefood carbs and healthy fats . Portion Control: Weigh or measure your portions and aim for consistency that helps you remain within your daily calorie target... . Mindful Eating: Eat slowly, eat until satisfied rather than stuffed, pause between bites, remove distractions, de-stress and eat in a calm manner. . They've got all the FLAVOR and protein of our favorite deli-style sandwiches, while being a bit lighter on calories and carbohydrates. . Ingredients:... . 3-4 very large leaves lettuce (Romaine, Butter, Red leaf, or Bibb lettuce) . 5 slices nitrate-free roasted chicken, or turkey breast (I used really thin slices, use only 2-3 slices if they're thicker, about 4-5 ounces total) . 1/2 a small avocado thinly sliced . 2 spoonfuls of your homemade ranch sauce . 1 thin slice of cheese, cut in half (optional) . 1 or 2 slices cooked nitrate free bacon, sliced in half . 3 thin slices of Roma tomato . For your Ranch Sauce: . 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt . 1 tsp dijon mustard . sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste about an 1/8 teaspoon each . 1 tsp garlic powder . 1/2 tsp onion powder . 1 Tbsp finely chopped fresh dill . 2 Tbsps finely chopped chives . Instructions: . First, make the homemade ranch sauce . Add all the ranch ingredients to a very small glass bowl, then whisk until well combined. Set . Next, let's assemble your lettuce roll-ups . 03.01.2022 This cucumber tomato salad is a quick and easy side dish. Fresh, crunchy and goes great with whatever you’re grilling. Ingredients Salad * 1 English cucumber, seeds scooped out and sliced (about 2 cups)... * 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved * 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion * 1/4 cup chopped parsley * 1 tablespoon chopped dill Vinaigrette * 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar * 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil * 1 tablespoon dijon mustard * 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder * 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano * Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste In a large serving bowl combine the cucumber, tomatoes, red onion and herbs. In a small bowl or jar whisk together the vinaigrette ingredients. Pour over the salad and stir until coated. Taste for seasoning and serve or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

01.01.2022 What youll need for the crispy tofu: Firm/extra firm tofu Garlic powder Ground ginger... Cornflour Procedures: 1. Slice the block of tofu in half and then into six strips. Now you can use your hands to break each strip into about four or five chunks. 2. Place them in a bowl and add the cornflour, garlic, ginger, salt and pepper. 3. Toss well so all the pieces are completely coated. Heat a thin layer of oil in a large frying pan on medium-high heat. 4. Place the tofu in, if the pan isnt large enough for all the pieces then do it in two rounds, dont overcrowd the pan. 5. Fry for around 10 minutes, tossing occasionally until they are crispy and golden all over. 6. Pour 3/4 of the sauce on top, stir and let it gently bubble and the sauce heat up. 7. Serve with rice and enjoy! You can add any veggies you like to this onions, peppers, broccoli would be delicious!

Remember when you first started training how sore you were? How it was hard to get up from the toilet after leg day? How did it hurt to cough if you did a crazy core w...orkout? How you couldn’t straighten your arms after countless push-ups and pull-ups? . Follow the above point of taking it easy, but at the same time do expect to experience some soreness. Muscle soreness is a side effect of the stress put on muscles when you exercise. Some soreness is good, it’s a sign you’re adapting to the training and your muscle fibres are repairing.
