15.01.2022 We recently teamed up with renowned cinematographer Ed Lachman, ASC ("Dark Waters", "Far From Heaven") to deliver the first exposure map tool for VariCam cinema... cameras. Released as part of the latest firmware upgrade (Ver. 40.52) for the VariCam 35 and VariCam LT, the new EL Zone System uses stop values in 15 delineated steps for more precise image control. Also included is anamorphic de-squeeze aspect ratios 1.8x and 1.5x and an in-camera custom aspect ratio frame marker generator that lets you create almost any aspect ratio. Written by Michael Gow and directed by Matthew Lutton in a Malthouse Theatre and Sydney Theatre Company co-production, the staging of this play is breathtaking. What is the play about? Away is set in the summer of 1967, when three families head away for a beach holiday. Set against a backdrop of war and social revolution, they find themselves caught up in their own storm of secrets and conflict. 11.01.2022 As the industry, friends, family and colleagues mourn the loss of Denny Clairmont, we'd like to share this film made for the Society of Camera Operators for the...ir presentation to Denny of a Distinguised Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. At 2.20 he recalls how he contacted #CookeOptics to tell them that they need to come out with a new line of lenses...they need to be faster, they need to have different focal lengths..he went to the UK, worked with the lens and mechanical engineers, the resulting lenses he and Paul Duclos temporarily called S4s...and the name stuck. Ed Moore BSC, Geoff Boyle NSC and Misson’s Head of Colour Pablo Garcia will present a seminar explaining how ACES can help cinematographers ensure creative intent preservation for the future and communication throughout all departments during the production process. This will be a detailed look at ACES from the perspective of the cinematographer and covers subjects that include lining up cameras, using the look modification transform (LMT) and preservation for future deliverables.
