Children BA, pre professionals, professionals, amateurs, non dancers at ...Balettakademien, Kulturama, Royal Swedish Ballet and my group at Danscentrum. There can be a profound feeling in floor-barre. One dancer was very touched and said that it brought her home to herself. She didnt know she had been that far away and that she had been longing. She had been away from dance for some time.How can ballet be so effortless, I never knew, I almost have to remind myself, another dancer after floor-barre and ballet. I just sit so much better by the computer a non dancer said. The children: the dancing becomes much more fun. So, dancing, or just being, without the effort of holding, one way or the other, and instead to allow the lengthening of the muscle and the movement with a correct alignment. To use what you have in yourself in a simple way brings a beautiful ease to whoever you are or to whatever you do. See more

13.01.2022 Jeremy Marshall Resources workshop - books, dvds, agencies, programs, music etc Friday 16th Sept 2.45-3.45pm I took up ballet as an adult to improve my posture... to help with Argentine Tango. Ballet rapidly eclipsed tango as I had very gifted teachers. By luck, I learnt Equal Weight, or Bernal Method from Renato Paroni in London http://christinaofthedove.com/christinaofthe/BALLETANZ.html. From here I moved to Nina Thilas-Mohs who is also a Zena Rommett Floor Barre mentor This is where I stayed for many years with ballet classes and Floor Barre classes. My partner is Australian but we met in London and when she decided to return home I came with her. whilst preparing to move I looked for Floor Barre teachers in Australia but there were none. I discussed this with Nina and decided to certify as a Floor Barre teacher myself and bring the technique to Australia. Certifying is a four day conference each year in either New York or Europe (Paris for the moment). I have certified in '12 in Florence, '13 in New York and I have just certified in New York this year. Now I have more time to commit to teaching I am looking to share the benefits which I have experienced from Floor Barre. Floor Barre teaches correct placement and alignment which will prevent injuries and aid rehabilitation from injuries. It is derived from ballet barre classes and the founder, Zena Rommett dedicated her whole life to perfecting the technique. It is good for people in all walks of life to become better acquainted with their bodies. Professional ballet and dance companies use it and elite athletes use it.

10.01.2022 A few of us met the morning after the August 2016 Floor-Barre Certification to give thanks to Zena Rommett, at Trinity Church Wall Street, where Zena's ashes were placed last year in a service by Reverend Mark Bozzuti-Jones.
