19.01.2022 Three new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Perth. Visit www.wa.gov.au to see if you need to get tested. People in Perth and Peel must now wear a mask ins...ide and outside. Although we are easing restrictions in Perth and Peel, mask requirements in these areas or for people transiting in and out of the area, will remain in place until 8 May 2021. Mask restrictions also apply to anyone who has left Perth and Peel since 17 April 2021 and travelled to other regions of WA. It’s a good idea to carry a face mask with you at all times when you leave home. Masks must be worn in indoor public spaces, such as: shopping centres, supermarkets, retail outlets and indoor markets hospitals and aged care facilities hospitality venues such as restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs and nightclubs (not required for patrons while eating or drinking) stadiums and arenas hair, nail and beauty salons churches and places of worship libraries indoor recreational facilities, sport and gyms indoor workplaces public transport, taxis and rideshare, including waiting areas and queues for this transport airports and travelling on planes. You do not need to wear a mask when you are eating and drinking , driving your own private vehicle , when doing vigorous exercise outdoors, or when teaching. You should wear a mask outdoors if you are unable to stay more than 1.5m distance from other people. 19.01.2022 Perth and Peel will snap back to life before lockdown, with restrictions easing from 12.01am Saturday, 1 May 2021. Our guide below provides you with a quick gla...nce at which transitional measures will be in place until 12.01am Saturday, 8 May to ensure we remain safe until the end of the 14-day COVID-19 incubation period. Masks will be mandatory for indoor public venues and on public transport, and outside the home where physical distancing is not possible. Anyone who has been in Perth and Peel since 17 April but has since travelled to another region must also adhere to the mask requirements. BUSINESSES AND VENUES All businesses, workplaces and higher education facilities can now open, subject to venue capacity restrictions. 15.01.2022 Thousands of foster and family carers will receive one-off payments of $500 or more from the McGowan Government to help ease household financial pressures exper...ienced through the COVID-19 pandemic. An estimated 7,359 children living in carer households are expected to benefit from the financial boost, which will be provided directly to foster and family carers, community sector organisation foster carers and special guardian carers in September. Child Protection Minister Simone McGurk today announced the $3.68 million in payments to assist carers with buying essential items and covering additional expenses to ensure children remain safe, healthy and connected to school. From Monday 3 May 2021 adults aged 50 ye...ars and over in the Perth metro area will be able to receive their vaccination at a state-run vaccination community clinic. If you live in regional WA, speak to your local GP about getting the COVID-19 vaccine as they are able to apply for an early administration exemption. This is an important step forward in protecting our state from COVID-19. Vaccination is the most effective way to protect against infectious diseases. 04.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE on Information, Communications and Technology Equipment for Children in Care Learning from Home As outlined in the Education and School A...ttendance practice guidance released on 22 April 2020, Communities advised that children in the Chief Executive Officer’s (CEO) care should have returned to school at the commencement of Term Two on Wednesday, 29 April 2020. It is acknowledged that some children in the CEO’s care may be learning from home for a number of reasons. To support children attending public schools, including those in the CEO’s care who are learning from home, the Department of Education Western Australia (Public education in Western Australia) has advised that it will be providing access to Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) equipment where required and available. Principals can submit a request to access a limited supply of centrally sourced equipment. The closing date for all ICT support requests is Friday, 8 May 2020.
