25.01.2022 STRUGGLING TO MASTER THE HIP HINGE? The Standing BB Goodmorning can be a great exercise to assist with competence in the hip hinge. Things to look out for:... -head looking up -upper back tightness -stacking of ribs and pelvis -shins stay vertical -feet parallel Make sure the ROM of this exercise stops when the hamstring mobility allows it to - do not sacrifice your upper back tightness or neutral spine for more range.

25.01.2022 ARE YOU UPPER TRAP DOMINANT? DO YOU HAVE A WINGING SCAP? Try this exercise to improve lower trap recruitment and improve shoulder function before lifting.

22.01.2022 DO YOU HAVE TIGHT LATS?! Tightness in the lats will affect the way your shoulders move and function. Ensure you have the required mobility through here before you stabilize and add load. Remember, your body is in this for the long game!

20.01.2022 What better way to reach your rehab or fitness goals than in a supervised and fun environment? Our Pilates & Exercise Rehab classes offer a small group environment, where you will have an individualized program to help you progress forward based on your current condition and your goals. We currently run classes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday. Send us a DM or use the link in bio to book in.

16.01.2022 ARE YOU UPPER TRAP DOMINANT WHEN YOU MOVE? This can affect the symmetry of your muscles around your neck/shoulder/back.. But did you know that this also changes how your shoulder moves and can affect your ability to express stability and strength through your upper body.... This is one of my favourite exercises to warm up the lat. As you can see, it is moving the arm and the trunk to take the lat towards its most contracted position.

14.01.2022 THERES A LOT TO LIKE ABOUT THE SEATED GOOD MORNING. Here’s why we are a fan (for the right person, at the right time, ofcourse): -increases mobility through the hamstrings -primes the hips for a hinge... -loads the posterior chain Remember to hinge from your hips, rather than bend your spine, with this movement.

09.01.2022 WHY DO WE NEED SHOULDER STABILITY? It gives us a strong base to execute proper shoulder movements It protects our structure from unnecessary stress and potential injury

08.01.2022 FEET ROTATING OUT EXCESSIVELY DURING YOUR SQUAT? Perhaps you don’t have sufficient hip internal rotation (IR). Adequate hip IR is necessary to get into good technical positioning for a squat and create maximal torque at our hips. It allows our femur to remain centralized within the acetabulum when moving.... Inadequate hip IR range can lead to: -poor movement patterns -pinching in the hip -compensation in the lower back, knees, ankles

06.01.2022 UNABLE TO REACH FULL HIP EXTENSION BECAUSE OF TIGHTNESS IN THE FRONT OF YOUR HIPS? Use this exercise to load into full hip extension, primarily working the glute max A great regression or tool to master the hip hinge

03.01.2022 WHAT IS CUPPING? Myofascial cupping is a soft tissue technique used to relieve pain and muscle tightness. HOW DOES IT WORK? A cup is applied to the skin over areas of tightness or pain. We then use suction to lift the skin inside the cup, decompressing the muscles and other tissues beneath the skin. Sometimes we’ll ask you to perform active movements with the cups on to improve range of motion further.... WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CUPPING? - Improved pain - Improved range of motion and mobility - Increased circulation and fluid flow - Increased tissue temperature - Improved muscle tension and tenderness - Relaxation ARE BRUISES NORMAL AFTER CUPPING? It is common for brown, red or purple circles to appear on the skin where the cups were placed. The darkness of these bruises varies from person to person and usually go away within 5-10 days. Myofascial cupping is just one of the many techniques we use at Fox Physio. To book an appointment with @alliebrown.osteo or @laurafox93, head to the link in our bio.
