23.01.2022 Absolute respect for @fp.davidbartalos @functionalpatterns only! 6 months progress with my client with cerebral palsy, who suffered cerebral edema in December 2017. After this accident she’d had difficulties with coordination and motor skills and she’d been unable to walk without support of other person. In September 2018, she started to attend physical therapy in order to rehab and after 2 weeks, therapists along with neurologist concluded, that she need a whee...lchair, because there is not much to do about her condition. Martina didn’t surrender and refused to use the wheelchair, although she’d still remained dependent on other person being present in order to hold her when going somewhere. Since that time she hasn’t attended any form of training or therapy until she decided to try @functionalpatterns in the end of November 2018. Since the time we’ve started to work together, no other form of training and therapy has been applied besides @functionalpatterns . It’s a pleasure and very inspiring to work with such strong-willed and dedicated person as Martina. 1st video (4. 18.01.2022 Form follows function. #Repost @naudiaguilar Just like fascia adapts to traumas like this one here, it responds in a similar fashion whenever you take a faulty step. Ofcourse it's not this extreme, but the repetition of so many dysfunctional steps in life can really add up. If you enhance your gait and throwing functionality first, you open the gateway to stop the cycle of calcification within the body. Why? Because those motions are the drivers that made humans... efficient in their general motions. Prior to that, we were probably clunky to some degree. Had lots of pain trying to orient around a new spine and pelvis. The force transmission on running and throwing literally wedged us out of a dysfunctional state millions of years ago. I had planned to get thoracoplasty (cosmetic surgery to shave down my rib hump). I have scoliosis-kyphosis. It was severe enough at 50 degrees (and progressing rapidly during my growth spurt) that it warranted surgery. I had a spinal fusion 15 years ago, which turned out to be a a cosmetic cure. As the X-ray shows, all the surgery achieved was a cosmetic straightening of my spine to a 20 degree curve and a 3 cm increase in height. The BEFORE photo is the result of spinal fusion, and 3 years of hard work in the gym lifting weights. I was already muscular and physically fit then. I would say my scoliosis has improved by at least 60%, and will continue to improve. I have also gained mobility in my spine even though it has been fused rigid. These small movement adjustments are used for balancing, riding a bike with no hands, and even looking behind me without a blind spot. Over the two years I have dramatically improved how I move and feel thanks to @functionalpatterns and I'm slowly chipping away at my destructive behaviours and becoming a better human contributing to society. 01.01.2022 Relaxed Standing Posture Results. The photos on the left were taken in 2016 before I found Functional Patterns. I was dealing with a lot of pain which stemmed from several muscular and biomechanical imbalances. These were created from several fractures and performance-related injuries playing football. Additionally, I had very little upper body muscle mass, weighing 72kg. The photos on the right were taken in December 2019 as a HBS2 practitioner. I can now participate in foo...tball without my previous injuries and biomechanical imbalances hindering my performance. I now do Muay Thai and BJJ pain-free.
