21.01.2022 Step 1: Dig a deep planting hole twice The diameter of the avocado pot and 15 cm deeper than the pot. Step 2: test the pH of your soil. If not between 6.5 and 7.0 add Horticultural Lime at the rate of 1kg/4m2. Step 3: in the planting hole, add a cupful of organic fertiliser. Step 4: add organic compost rich in mycorrhizal fungi, To add important organic matter, mycorrhiza fungi and micro organisms including worms which will help to fight the soil pathogen ‘Phythothera’ S...tep 5: add humid acid (humates) derived from ancient brown coal To build a good soil structure and add valuable Organic matter and humates to the soil profile. Step 6: add mature ‘Ramial’ woodchip also thriving with microorganisms and mycorrhizal fungi. Step 7: backfill with healthy organic soil with a pH of 7.0. Step 8: repeat the lasagne layers on top of the soil: adding lucerne hay mulch, compost, mature wood chip. Step 9: water the tree with a combination of Charlie Carp Fish emulsion to reduce transplant shock, and also an organic Canadian seek help. Step 10: erect a sunshade barrier on the north and western sides to protect the young sensitive avocado tree from hot midday and afternoon sun. Then you have the ‘Freeman 10 stage’ to grow the perfect organic avocado tree. With this process, I am harvesting my first crop within two years, and hope to achieve maximum production after 5 years. 15.01.2022 After 250 days the Tomewin Border gate is finally open!!! This hard border closure has been very challenging economically, logistically, psychologically not only our farm but for all our cross- border residents whose kids go to school on the other side of the border etc. Hopefully life and trade will return to a ‘new normal’. 10.01.2022 Yesterday we held an important workshop for military veterans known as Timor Awakening run by Gary Stone, which is run by Padre Gary Stone and his son Michael Stone. This workshop was to teach and train Veterans on how to make their own organic garden and important link with Organic Food and Human Nutrition. The further message was to show that better nutrition leads to better gut health and better mental health. The Timor Awakening program is all about restoring Holistic Health to Veterans namely mind, body and soul.
