24.01.2022 World Futsal Cup closing ceremony What an incredible tournament and learning experience. A big thanks to all the boys who represented the club so professionally, gave it their all and never gave up. You all improved as the tournament progressed and you should all be very proud of your efforts.... Playing against the worlds best, we were tested in every way. Thanks to Jamie Dib for coaching the side. Taking on an incredibly tough challenge and embracing it. You passed on so much knowledge to the boys and were able to get the best out of them. Thank you to United Futsal, all the organisers, referees and volunteers. An incredible tournament and it was a pleasure to be a part of. Thanks to Pro Futsal for all your support. Creating opportunities and pathways for players, coaches and clubs in Australia to participate at these world class Futsal events. 20.01.2022 This tournament has been an amazing experience to see the level of futsal other countries play. I have learnt a lot from watching and playing against these teams that are training and playing futsal at a professional level. I would personally like to thank El for providing this opportunity to me and coach Jamie for teaching me to look at the game in another way. Also I would like to thank Luke for organising us and making sure everything runs smoothly.... Connor Crews

19.01.2022 It’s been a very draining competition and regardless of the score after every game, the experience was great. Playing against the best of the best showed me the skill gap, while also helping me identify major faults in my game. With multiple games in such a short period of time, my body was taking a toll, yet in this completion with the level I was playing against, I felt as though my body reached a different level regarding how much I could push myself. 18.01.2022 Our trip to Blanes for the World Futsal Cup has been an experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Whilst results didn’t go our way, the overall experience was amazing. The level of competition and professionalism within every team was eye-opening, particularly in regards to their focus, technique and discipline. I’m incredibly proud of the boys from Muita Calma and how we managed to match the level of desire and effort of the other world class teams in o...ur age group. We found ourselves down early in many of our games yet that never hindered our determination and fighting spirit forged within our strong sense of teamwork. Coming from a nation where futsal is still a developing sport, our spells where we matched the quality of those teams who come from from historically strong futsal nations was particularly impressive from the boys and coach, Jaime Dib. Each time we trained, had team meetings or prepared for a game, he gave us the belief, confidence and knowledge to raise our individual performances, which subsequently raised the performance of the team, allowing us to play futsal at the highest level for many spells throughout the tournament. Diego Florenca

18.01.2022 The trip to Barcelona for the World Futsal Cup has been an eye-opening experience. Whilst we haven’t gotten the results we hoped for, it has been amazing to see the level of professionalism that the Brazilian, Spanish and Japanese players possess. After being taught a lesson in futsal by Corinthians the night before, I was pleasantly surprised to see us compete well against Brazilian comrades Santos FC. ... In the opening stages we defended well and had multiple chances which saw us down 2-1 at half time with a real chance to win the game. Their fresh subs eventually over-ran us but I was incredibly proud of the team, who has never played together before, to give one of the best clubs in the world a run for their money. Jake Pizzuto

09.01.2022 Another amazing day of Futsal at the World Futsal Cup! The boys were once again challenged in every way. Today playing against Brazilian club side CT Herick Pereira Futsal and Japanese club side Delmigliori Cloud Gunma. Our boys improved game by game and we even managed to bag a few goals in the last game. The boys gave it their all and I don’t think they quite understand just yet on how good of a job they did. ... These teams we played against are World Class! Training up to 5 times a week and some paid professionals. Plenty of sore and tired bodies but worth every second of it. A good nights sleep ahead and will head to watch the Finals tomorrow, can’t wait!

09.01.2022 The Futsal World Cup was an incredible learning opportunity for everybody involved. Off the court, the boys were exposed to the level of professionalism it takes to compete at this level. They were extremely disciplined with their meals, recoveries and behaviour, yet also found a balance which ensured they were able to make friends and memories which will last a lifetime. The boys were exposed to a completely new culture, and all the challenges which come with it, but compl...etely embraced it. On the court, we were fortunate enough to be placed in the group which would put us well out of our comfort zone. The boys were exposed to professional clubs and teams which train 5 nights a week, and compete in professional domestic competitions. In each of the games, the boys faced completely different futsal cultures, and had to adapt accordingly. Against Corinthians, the boys had to play against one of the best 1v1 attacking teams in the world, whilst against Tokyo’s Pescadola Machida, the boys faced some of the most athletic and effective 1v1 defenders in the world. Overall, the boys competed well and dominated passages of every game we played. Ultimately the intensity of the games, stop clock, sore bodies, and the quality of the opposition made it difficult to compete over the full 40 minutes. The learning gained for the players and myself was invaluable, and we will all be better for the experience. I can’t thank El and ProFutsal enough for providing the players and coaches an opportunity as special as this one. It was a pleasure being able to share this experience with the boys, and I can’t wait to see where else this amazing game can take them. Jamie Dib (Coach - World Futsal Cup, Barca)

08.01.2022 The tournament was an amazing experience. It was good to see all the best players in our age group throughout the world. We played against teams from Brazil and Japan and although we did lose, I learned a lot and what I need to work on as a player. Hopefully I can come back a much better player and show my improvement in the future games I play. ... A big thankyou to Jamie for coaching me throughout the tournament as I learned so much from him. Also thankyou to Luke and El for organising this opportunity for me. Overall I enjoyed myself during the time I was away and would recommend it for any aspiring futsal player. Benji Mikhael

07.01.2022 These past 3 days of intense futsal have been the best 3 days of my life. Versing these professional teams have been amazing. The level of intensity the teams had were unreal and I strive to one day play in that level. It is really difficult to choose a highlight because everything has been amazing but if I have to choose it has to be each game. I have learned that being switched on the whole time and making sure you are always ready, you will always be able to make a save. ... Personally I feel that I have had a good tournament, even though I feel like I didn’t have a good first game, I lifted, put it in the past and learned from my mistakes. With the tournament ending, I can’t thank the coaching staff El,Luke and Jamie, enough For being such amazing people, mentors and coaches. but of course I can’t forget about the BOYS. Thank you being such amazing teammates and long lasting friends. Lads it has been an honour being your Captain and leading you on the field in this tournament, without you boys I would have not become a better keeper and also a better person. You boys made me realise that you don’t need to train everyday, see each other everyday to have such a unreal connection. I’m gonna Miss playing in Spain and being yelled at by Luke and Jamie (IN A GOOD WAY!!) but most of all I’m going to Miss you boys and I can’t wait for the day to play with you again. Carlos Julian Barriga Bardalez

06.01.2022 Being a part of the Muita Calma squad in order to attend the 2019 futsal world cup was a breathtaking experience. Despite the minimal game time i recived due to injuries, it was an honour to witness an international futsal competition of the highest calibre and soak in the intelligence of the foreign players. Even though the results didnt fall our way, that didnt interfere with our team chemistry and in fact improved our bond on and off the court. Was great to travel with a...n amazing bunch of boys. Also many thanks to Jamie and Luke for guiding us through the campaign and enlightening us with new found knowledge. Sebastian Cerecedo

05.01.2022 The world futsal cup is an amazing experience with amazing clubs and exceptional facilities. For us, it was a first time professional competition with the top clubs in the world. The Brazilian clubs, Santos and Corinthians were so quick and skilful whilst the the Japanese club, Pescadola, were exceptional defenders. The level of these clubs weren’t just one step ahead but two or three and it was an honour to play with them. ... For me, going back home, I believe my game will be vastly improved, being used to such high intensity and pressure on the court. I’d like to thank everyone involved, the boys, Jamie, Luke and El for providing this opportunity and allowing me to experience professional futsal. Josh Ban

05.01.2022 Competing at an international level is always an amazing experience. I would like to thank Pro Futsal and Fremantle Muita Calma Futsal Club for the opportunity to play at the World Futsal Cup. Our team lifted and improved with every game thanks to coaches Luke and Jamie. The highlight for me was testing my keeper skills against some of the world’s best players and competing at this elite level has really sharpened my focus toward a professional futsal career in Europe. Harrison King

05.01.2022 The world futsal cup is a great competition, I love it’s competitive nature and speed and intensity of the games. It is not my first time playing in this competition and at this level but every time I come and play at this level I find even more love for the sport. My highlight of this tournament is definitely meeting the boys from Corinthians again and others that participated last time around and seeing there growth in the past year and catching up with them. ... Having the New South Wales boys around was great, I loved listening to their past experiences and learning and improving my game with them over this trip. After the time I’ve spent in Barcelona I feel like that brushed up on everything I learnt last year when I participated in the world futsal cup. James Toth

03.01.2022 Girona Located in Catalonia, Spain, sits between Barcelona and Costa Brava. Just a 40 min bus ride from where we are staying, It's a gorgeous place to visit, with medieval walls, narrow winding city streets, gobble stones and the home of where game of thrones season 6 was filmed. A traditional tapas meal for dinner was incredible, at a restaurant recommend by a local hosting a stall at the night markets. ... The night didn’t finish there, back at the hotel all the teams were still partying and coach Jamie was fortunate enough to have a good chat to the Corinthians coach and swap a few gifts. A fantastic way to end an amazing week in Spain at the World Futsal Cup!

03.01.2022 Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner in the dining hall. We are fortunate enough to eat and rub shoulders with the best clubs in the world.
