16.01.2022 New Artist Those of you that have followed Elliot Hall Enamels history will recognise the Name Anthony Young as one of the talented Artists that used to work f...or Kingsley Enamels back in the day. I recall Anthony travelling to work on his motorbike over 30 years ago so it was a familiar and welcome sight to see him pull up at the Elliot Hall Enamels factory once again on 2 wheels some 30 years later. Tony is also the resident Artist at Royal Porcelain Works, Tony Young who has been an artist all his working life began his career at Royal Worcester in 1970, shortly after his fifteenth birthday. In 1971 he was named ‘Best Animal and Bird Artist’ by the renowned ceramics expert Henry Sandon. His many special commissions have included painting the Queen’s corgis, as well as paintings for the Sultan of Oman. Tony has also built up a reputation for his repairs and restoration work which he also undertakes on site; these have included around 600 red poppies from the public art installation at the Tower of London which commemorated the outbreak of the First World War. We are delighted to be working with Tony again and will be showcasing his amazing artist abilities on our Enamels in the future. These pieces are the first pieces that tony has painted for us and we look forward to a long and creative future together.
