11.01.2022 If you’re wanting to lose weight, tone up (which is losing fat & increasing muscle) or just improve your overall health and well-being, you need to remember that one 40 minute workout a couple of days a week is not going to change your life dramatically. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a FANTASTIC place to start - but once you get going you need to address other crucial aspects of your day to day life if you wish to make some serious changes to your health: 1. Nutrition. Calo...ries in VS calories out. The old saying remains true - You CANNOT out exercise a bad diet. If you’re already eating a balanced diet & the weight isn’t shifting, check your portion sizes. Many people are overeating as much as 600-1000 calories a day simple because they’re not aware of portion sizes! This adds up! 2. Daily steps & movement. Just because you went to a strength class in the morning, it doesn’t mean you can be stagnant for the rest of the day. Your body isn’t designed to sit down all day. Your daily movement can be things from walking (we all know about the 10,000 steps daily) doing squats while you wait for the kettle, taking the stairs, carrying your groceries home instead of driving. So many things!! Consider your movement next time to go to drive the car. 3. Sleep. Remember that your hormones are effected by lack of sleep. Insulin & also the ‘hunger hormones’ leptin and ghrelin. Lack of sleep messes with these hormones which regulate your hunger. Do you notice when you’re tired that you crave caffeine, carbs & sugar? That’s your body reaction to the sleep deprivation to help give it that ‘instant’ energy boost. 4. Water intake. This is an obvious one but something we still neglect. Often the body can’t distinguish between hunger and dehydration. Next time you think you’re hungry, have a glass of water & see how you feel! Aim to look after these 4 steps in your day to day life. If it seems overwhelming, simplify it ~ Exercise, eat nourishing food & be mindful, move your body throughout the day, drink enough water & get to bed early. Your body will T H R I V E See more

09.01.2022 Back from Bali and back to the grind - Let’s go & get to work ladies

08.01.2022 Tastiest & Easiest Coconut Rough Recipe Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups of shredded coconut... 1/2 cup of cacao 1/2 cup of coconut oil 2-3 tablespoons of rice malt syrup (or maple syrup) Method: Toast shredded coconut in a fry pan until golden brown. Take off the heat. In another bowl add the melted coconut oil & rice malt syrup. Then add the toasted coconut & cacao powder. Mix well. Line tray with baking paper & add mixture so it’s approx 1cm thick, pat down well. Freeze for 30-40 minutes and then cut. I store mine in the freezer, it only needs to be out for 2 minutes before serving (but let’s be honest I don’t even wait that long to eat it ) Don’t forget to click SAVE for later!

05.01.2022 What are your Sunday habits? Once upon a time it used to be my least favourite day of the week. Now it’s my most loved by far! Wake up whenever I like (usually around 7am) coffee outside on the porch, slowly make my way to the gym to train however I feel. Then it’s another coffee, some brunch, food shopping, cleaning the house, washing, organising my diary and schedule for the week & maybe an arvo snooze on the couch or a glass of red with my man ... Sunday’s don’t have to suck. You don’t have to be down & sad about the weekend being ‘over’ Use it as an opportunity to plant the seeds for the week ahead. Yes get some housework done but hey make it semi fun! CRANK the happy tunes, open the windows, light some candles. I don’t know about you but when I have a clean house I feel like my life is under control (I am a clean freak & enjoy cleaning though so maybe that’s just me ) ANYWAYS! Stop procrastinating, do whatever ya gotta do then do something that’s going to make you smile See more
